Hey guys!,
I was wondering what you guys thought about taking your fit to the canyons??
I heard that since our cars are tall, we shouldnt do canyons?
I myself havent felt anything wrong will cruising it.
Your opinions?

 

Wondering who in the world would say this, but -- you're car is fine in "the canyons" assuming you mean being on-road.

It is taller than most other sedans and coupes, but not that much taller. It isn't as tall as a Suzuki Sidekick (1st gen) or as small a wheelbase (the Fit has a bigger wheelbase).

Those days of tipping over are pretty much done (at reasonable speeds and turns).

 

See. That makes more sense. People made it seem like Fits tip over every other day.

I haven't seen a thread about canyons soo I figured its because Fits rarely went. I'm glad to know I won't tip over. haha

 

Dig around the California and Fit Racing sub-forums, you'll find that plenty of people here do canyon runs in their Fits as well as some taking them to autocross and/or road race events. The thing about the Fits of both the GD and current GE chassis is that they both have most of their weight down low and have a very stiff chassis for a car of its class; which helps during cornering. Actually, your car is capable of out-handling an Si pretty easily. Doesn't sound like you know what you got there. GE8 FIT RS?FF/5MT/??????????????????????? - FC2??

Haha I think so too. Our Fit's handling is good. Not being a biased but I think of all the cars that I've drive, the Fit is one of the best handling and very fun to drive.

It's like someone trying to explain the merits of the PS3 to an XBox360 fanboy, or vice versa.

Just go out and see how well you can drive it. And if they're around to see how well it can be driven, all the better. If they still refuse... oh well. Just enjoy the car.

Their MAIN point. Is "YOUR CAR IS TOO TALL. THAT'S WHY EKs AND EPs ARE GOOD AT CANYONS, BECAUSE THEY ARE LOWER"
I mean I don't care, its just... I dislike being under estimated.

I wish they had a youtube video of an si going against a fit, canyon wise. Lol
