New Owner - Honda Newb - Fit Newb - Introduction
Hello Fit Freaks,
My name is Mike, located in Tampa Bay FL. I'm 29 and recently engaged. I am a certified car nut (it drives my fiance crazy). Well, enough about me, onto the car(s) lol. As the title says, I'm a Honda and a Fit Newb. To be honest, I really do not know much about Hondas or the Fit which is why I joined this community. I purchased a Certified '09 Fit Sport a few weeks ago with about 32k miles on it (plus the wrap around warranty) ... I know its a Honda and I dont need it, but I got tired of spending a ton of money on my last car so I figured it was worth it.
The Fit came with AT with the flap your paddles, floor mats, cargo cover, MP3 with iPod hook-up and a few other things. Except for the acceleration, I love it. It handles really well (it takes turns at 60 - 70 mph where my old car would take turns at 80 - 90
). I can tell it wants to go faster, but I am not used to the car yet. I am really resisting the urge to lower it and get some wheels. We'll see how long I can last ...

I'm new too
Welcome!
I'll be lurking on this thread because I also just bought my first Honda a few weeks ago - a 2011 Fit Sport MT and I'm loving it so far. My previous cars were family/hand-me-downs so this is the first car I've ever owned new.

Hey guys! I'm a Honda newb, too. Saturday, my wife and I traded in my 2000 Saturn SL 5-speed for a 2009 Honda Fit Sport with the 5-speed automatic transmission. Forums are a great way to learn about your care and take care of it, so I'm pumped to see that I'm not the only one who's new.
Previous cars:
1989 Chevy Cavalier Z24
1993 Dodge Dakota Magnum
1993 Saturn SL1
2000 Saturn SL
Currently selling my wife's 2003 Chevy Malibu: Pennswoods.net Classifieds: 2003 Chevy Malibu ***LOW MILEAGE***
I'm looking forward to learning what I can do to maintain and improve my Fit without breaking the warranty or the bank. I already love it though (except my two least favorite things so far, the suspension and acceleration), it's so nice to have cruise control and keyless entry (two things I've never had).
Let me know if you guys discover anything to do right off the bat to improve the Fit.
Congrats on the engagement. Like the Fit, marriage is a wild ride.
