Toture!!!
I went to the dealer on 6/10 and ordered my Storm Silver Metallic MT Sport. I had to give them a $500 to order it becaue they do not sell many manual transmissions and wanted a deposit to ensure that I would come get it when it came in. Well, they told me it would take 3 to 4 months for the fit to come it because of high demand and the transportation time from Japan.
Then I find this site and here about people getting their Fits and how wonderful they are... it's freakin' torture!!! I'm driving a 91 Acura Integra with no A/C, no blower for the A/C anyway, rusted out along all the wheel wells, some other electrical issues (one of which makes it beep at me constantly), but it does run like a champ.
I don't understand why some people are getting there Fits in 7 or 8 weeks, and I have to wait untill September or October... well, I won't be able to pay for it until then anyway my down payment, but still!!! I WANT IT NOW!!
Oh well, I'll just live vicariously through y'all...

Two words: "Manual Transmission" - They're in short supply. If you weren't one of the lucky ones to get one out of the first group to hit the USA, then you're in line, waiting for one. If it's any consolation, you have plenty of company.
yeah, i was in the same boat (except my car was pretty much on its last legs). no a/c, no front bumper, no abs, no airbags.... i got lucky and got my car a month ago. just hang in there, though. it's totally worth it to wait and then it makes it all the more great when you finally have the new car!
Yes, you have plenty of company. I sent my deposit off on a white Sport MT almost two weeks ago. Right off, I was told about 3 months ETA. Still waiting to hear a definite ETA, but it will likely be a couple months.
I can wait.... it will be tough, especially since my girl just got a new Accord...
I didn't bother trying any other dealers because I really can't afford to get it until september or october anyway... I happen to test drive a MT base Fit when she was looking and fell in love. The dealer told me how long the wait was, so i went out and kicked a few more tires (Scion XA, tried to test a Yaris but couldn't find one) and checked out a plethora of other cars based on their statistics and price... Nothing could quite match the Fit... It's a damn good car.... and NEW!
I'll survive.... it will be hard, but I will survive.

I feel your pain!! Ordered our Silver Sport AT in May, build date was suppoed to be June 5th and arrive on the 30th, but our dealership said yesterday that Honda has been pushing dates back and they're not sure when it's coming in now
