2012 Fit Info

*the 2012 Sport and Sport Navigation models will be coming with Bluetooth Handsfree Link!!
*Navigation units finally get RDS
*The navigation models will have bluetooth audio streaming but no FM Traffic or XM Radio.
*2012 fits will also be equipped with Event data Recorders, I assume its like a black box for cars
*some Canadian models will be made at Huangpu Guangzhou Factory in China factory code 3 Honda Automobile (China) Co., Ltd.
New colors are
*BG-59M Blue Raspberry Metallic
*YR-592M Orangeburst Metallic
*Also new fog light installation design and procedure so I'm assuming new front-end bumper.
*Center console box where the front center cup holders are get an ambient light
* What the front grille will probably look like

From reading the first post it appears the front bumper is different due to the different fogs, I guess we'll see soon enough

I wonder what these 2 new colors look like?

Considering the GE has been on the market for 3 model years now in NA, I would've expected the fourth year to get the usual change in headlight and taillight design. Hmmm... maybe next year.

Spend $1800 more for the Sport model and I still don't get Bluetooth streaming?

Guess I'm going to stick with a base 2011 and just add my own stereo then. Still, I'm glad I waited. I actually saw some Fits in stock in southern California. If only they'd be in stock up north here.

I just read in the Motor Trend that the 2012 will have a new front end, new wheels, all black dash, body-colored mirrors on the base, upgraded seat fabric on the sport, new wheels, bluetooth, and new colors.

... so who wants to give me their sport wheels? They're pretty much worthless now that they'll be outdated.

Leets, you actually like the sport wheels? They are OK I suppose, but too heavy for the Fit's tiny engine. Mine collect dust in a room, but unfortunately I need them when it comes time for inspection as the +45 offset and 205 tires will fail inspection here in Japan.

Compared to the steel eyesores that come stock on the base model? Yes, I'd say I like the sport wheels very much. They definitely aren't my first choice for wheels on my car, but at this point just about anything is an improvement.

I didn't think there was much of a reason to upgrade from a base to a sport in 2011..... Upgrade seat fabric would have definitely impacted my decision at the time... of course, now that I know about clazzios, I guess seat fabric doesn't really matter anymore.

LOTS OF NEW FIT 2012 INFO CAME OUT TODAY

Miles Per Gallon - 2012 Honda Fit Receives Updates and More Features - Super Street Magazine
Honda Fit gets outside, inside tweaks for 2012
2012 Honda Fit Shapes Up

...AND, the All the Sport models are getting Bluetooth and Bluetooth Streaming. Not just Nav. (Am I reading that right?)

Still no Sirius/XM. But with Bluetooth, who needs it, right?

New wheels for Sport. New hubcaps for the Base. Dashboard is going all-black, instead of grey on black.

2012 models get extra sound-insulating foam to quiet the ride.

Looks like I'm gonna put off buying my Fit until I can get a 2012 sport model.

Ah crap!

When equipped with the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ with Voice Recognition5, the Fit Sport now includes Bluetooth®1 HandsFreeLink® to help make hands-free telephone calls more convenient.
Why do you have to be so stingy with $100 technology, Honda!!!! Why???

Guess it's back to the Base model for me.

I'm disappointed in the fuel numbers. Same as the 2011 model. Honestly, with more and more competitors pumping out 40mpg highway rated cars - Honda is starting to fall behind. I wouldn't have waited until 2013 to address this gap, I would have added a 6th gear to the auto this year. I don't know if Honda feels squeezed by the high yen so it can't offer better specs and keep the car in it's price range.... but waiting until Mexico is online I think is ceding too much time. They will really have to play catch up now in 2013. Maybe they have a new body style?

All models are powered by a four-cylinder engine that produces 117 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 106 lb-ft. of torque at 4,800 rpm. When equipped with the available automatic transmission, the Fit has an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) city/highway/combined fuel economy rating of 28/35/31 miles per gallon3. The Fit Sport with the available automatic transmission has an EPA city/highway/combined fuel economy rating3 of 27/33/30 miles per gallon. All manual transmission-equipped models have an EPA city/highway/combined fuel economy rating of 27/33/29 miles per gallon3.

i thought i posted already, maybe it was another thread.

my take on the 2012: ugly wheels, the black headlamps look good, but it's starting to be a dated look.

yah, this day in age, our smartphones are our gps. wat they need to do is integrate a large screen with BT so that we can control our phones from the car.
