2008 Fit versus Hit-and-Run Driver

My 2008 Honda Fit Sport got totalled back on Oct. 2011.

I was on a interstate transfer ramp going about 45 MPH, got tapped on the rear by a 2005 Mustang and was instantly out of control, I could not recover from the hit and spun two times and impacted the passenger side of the Fit. The car was totaled.

As I regain consciousness after the accident I hear the Mustang accelerating out into the distance. I sustained internal injuries to my neck and would not have done so well in the passenger seat, but I think I still would have survived.

The Fit soaked up the accident like a dream, but took the car with it. I purchased it brand new in 2008 for $17,000, and the insurance company gave me $15,900. That's an annual depreciation average of about only $315.

Edit: Here's what it used to look like:

Sorry to hear that man. My car was hit and run (in a parking lot, damage wasnt nearly as bad as yours) but luckily the lady got the guys car and plate #. Gave it to the cops and they didnt even give the guy a ticket! Luckily his insurance picked up the tab and I didnt have to pay anything out of pocket.
