What are you paying for Insurace...

pics yourself, pics of your cars, type of oil, mileage, etc.. What about cost in Insurance.

I guess I'll start. Being 24, insurance is high for new auto owners so my dad (lucky me!) put his name on the insurance.

Farmers - $700 a year Full Coverage..

I live in San Angelo, TX.. My parents live in Austin, TX.

I'm not sure how my dad is doing it but $700 for the first time owner is pretty good.

I haven't purchased my car yet. It's supposed to be here any day. Friday or Saturday I think. It's in New Mexico, in transit. Maybe it'll take them a day to get here, but I bet it wil be Saturday. If not Monday. I can't wait!

SpreadHead: $250 every 6 months.. nice!

I'm 36 and I'm paying $368/6 months with Geico. That's only about $25 more a month than I was paying for my 92 Civic (except now I have collision and comprehensive).

Two people, both 27 with full coverage, glass and great max payouts = $300/ 6 months. Not bad with a few good tickets (78 in a 65, and 45 in a 15...and thats not a misprint....in a fifteen zone). Geico must like me.

Progressive, $108/month
Sport AT
27 yr old female good driving record
full coverage.
But then they kinda made a mistake when quoting me, so it'll increase after 6 months to about $130

Yogi-lou,
Sounds like you are getting ripped off. I would check geico, as I pay less that $80/mo with 4 months on, 2 months off. Would be worth checking out and of course you dont have to wait until your policy expires. Also I think that Progressive doesnt figure credit rating as much as say Geico and allstate/state farm. Just a thought...

Whaaa? Really? $80 is unheard of! In NY? What do you mean by 4mo on 2mo off?
I have to admit I didn't do much homework on the insurance because I was in a rush to get it... I should look into it. But I've heard from people that $108 is really good.

That's about $1300 per 6 months. The rest of use are around $600-800.

Geico gave me $1065 for 6 months. I haven't tried other insurance companies though. I really don't see how I could be getting anything lower.

What I mean is that I pay for 4 months, and then dont pay for 2 months. I live in Rochester, NY (2nd or 3rd highest car theft rate for cities in the country I believe). $108/month is not great. It works out to ~$54/month if I paid every month. I would get a credit report and see if something is sticking you there, because credit does figure into insurance (as it should because it shows level of responsibility). Hope that helps.

My insurance

I am 21, 1 speeding ticket in my now sold Civic in October, an at fault accident when I was 18, and a couple tickets here and there from 17 - 20 for improper equipment (mods on my Civic). My credit is good, never missed any payments. I have 2 credit cards with $3,000 limit, I have student loans totaling $35,***. I have paid off my S2000 which was $19,***. I financed my Fit for $15,***. My income is about $55,***/year. I currently own a '07 Fit and an '01 S2000, I have Progressive Insurance at $350/month (full coverage on both vehicals) and I'm single...

Well I haven't gotten my MT Sport yet but I live in Rochester, NY have coverage through Amica and they say that it will be $911 a year but that is with the owners dividend so I'll be getting about 20% back at the end of the year, so I'll really only be paying $728.80. so that's about $60.74 per month and that's with a $500 deducatable with collision, full glass and everything. Oh and I'm a 29yr old female- clean driving record.
I must say I LOVE Amica and I think that they have the best rates around.
