Group Buy on Armrests?
Group Buy on Armrests?
Hello all,
I don’t know if this forum ever has any group buys (and sorry I don’t check in very often as thankfully I have had no issues with my 2009 Fit Sport).
I am interested, as I am sure a lot of others are, in adding the OEM Honda armrest to my Fit, but the cheapest I can find them is on eBay for around $180 shipped.
I would have to pay the dealer to put it in which I think is around $85 last time I checked so as much as I would like the armrest I really cannot justify over $250 for a nicer armrest than what came with the car.
Can we try to set up some kind of group buy? Not even sure if whatever sources, dealers, etc would have these at a group discount but if I could get one for less than $100 I would go ahead with it. I am posting on a couple of other Fit forums as well....
Thanks
Mike

I'm sure if you contacted a seller and put the work into it you could find willing FitFreak members to join in on a group buy.
I think I've seen someone on here posting good reviews of a $70 armrest they bought off of EBAY. You may want to do some more searching to narrow down your options and which armrest you'd like to pull the trigger on for a potential group buy.
Why would you have to pay the dealer to put the armrest in? There are plenty of detailed DIYs, including a collegehillshonda video guide, to help you save that ~$85

Starks,
Thanks for the info, I am having a medical procedure on Tuesday and will be off for a few days so I will have time to look into it then.
I did watch a DIY video as well as print out the instructions for the install of the OEM Honda version.
I have no tools at all and I am horribly unskilled when it comes to doing anything other than snapping two things together, and once I saw that drilling was involved I decided to let the dealer handle it as if they screw it up they can get another armrest, where if I screw it up I am out the money I paid for the thing.

I bought a $55.00 arm rest on E-Bay , easy install ( 3 screws ) but console is very loose, can't do much , if i lean over to unlock the front passager door, i have to be carefull not to bend the arm rest; does the jon for the price
Been pleased with my Zeta armrest- - have had it for 2 years--lots of room for storage. Never even attached it with screws and it is nice & stable.
paid about $90 from ebay
