to be honest, i don't think any of that stuff is necessary. U can DIY like i did! OKay:

1) park ur car in the perfect spot in the garage where u want the car to be.
2) get some string (long enuf for it to reach the ceiling) and an old tennis ball. Make a hole through the tennis ball and run the string through it.
3) get a ladder and hang the string from the ceiling so that the tennis ball is touching ur windshield (somewhere in the line of sight of the driver)
4) mark the location on the roof and screw the string to the roof. If you did everything correctly, the tennis ball should be sitting nicely on the windshield of the car.
5) test it out to see it if works. BAck up out of the garage and go back in. Once u see the tennis ball hit the windshield, stop b/c that is the location where u want the car to be parked.

Voalah! I hope u understood it. If you didn't, i could try 2 draw up a visual aid of what im talkin about lol. I would show u pictures of my garage but i don't park the car in there anymore.

If you don't want to use the DIY idea, then i recommend the Directed Electronics b/c there quality if equipment is top notch. i have a lot of their alarm equipment in my EG.

^ The tennis ball thing works great. My inlaws and grandparents both use that method and it's perfect.

Ill see about which way to go.
I did wait 19 + yrs for a garage. ( Im 35) really fired up about having my Fit in the house.
Winter will be a lot better now.

For some reason, my "parking ball" cracks me up every time I drive in the garage. I bought a hot pink ball with a goofy smiley face at a pet store. I pull up eye to eye with that goofy smile for a perfect parking job every time.

I had to decommission the "system" briefly when my black Lab discovered it one day. As long as the car is in the garage, she is OK with it.

BTW, congratulations on the garage! I know all about the wait.

You could use anything you want in place of the tennis ball...if you are feeling particularily JDM, you could get that little Honda Asimo Plush and put that on the end of the string...

Don't have my Fit yet, but I have always used a Reynolds Wrap ball on string hanging from the overhead rafters in the garage. Works like a charm.

Congratulations on the garage. I will be looking for a house when I move to VA, and my only requirements are that it has a basement and a garage.

I paint, (or put a tape) stripe on the wall that lines up with my door lock button, then pull in until it lines up.
