A Fit Sedan?

Just came across this article on Motor Trend which mentions a broader line of Fits when it is finally produced in Mexico.

One new possible addition is a Fit sedan! Defeats the whole purpose of a Fit doesn't it? Then there's a taller model ala Outback.

Honda Fit Family to Grow in North America.

Makes sense since the Fiesta and Accent are both offer in a sedan.

... and sonic, and versa, and most every other car in its class. If I remember correctly, the honda CITY is the Sedan version of the FIT, just not sold in NA.

I like the fact that will be more Fit variations but I guess what threw me with a sedan version was that the FIT was so named in part because if can fit so much cargo.

Perhaps we'll also be getting a sun/moon roof option?

..and SX4 (RIP Suzuki of America)

Yes, all those cars have a sedan version that looks horrible. They are probably after the Versa, which as a model, outsells everyone because it comes in like 8 configurations. They are smart to do this, obviously, but I fear the styling results. Our community will grow larger though. That's not a bad thing.

It will be interesting (and TALL), that's for sure. My hope is that it comes with a new front end that we can swap over. Seriously doubt Honda will go to those lengths, but you never know. They are serious about the platform, and I do see quite a few on the road. All driven by women. Women loooove cheap sedans.

wouldn't a fit sedan basically be a Civic?
Any bigger on the fit or longer becomes a civic no?
