Thumbs up couple of new mythbusters

1. I don't know who said that the sport A/T is limited at 110mph,
I have taken to my fit to 125mph!!! And perhaps could have gone faster, still had some pedal left... So its not electronicly limited at 110.

2. Someone posted a saleman said the fit was unstable at highway speeds, Let me tell you the fit was very stable & smooth at 125mph.
and only mod I have is a lightened crank pulley.

3. a/c turns off at WOT, not! Fit still blows cold at wot, I have tested
this with with a thermometer in the vent, and drive the fit up steep mountains for 10mins at wot, and the vent temps never increased from 40F. Then I turned the a/c switch off, and imediately I saw the temp slowly rise while still driving at wot.

C&D claimed that the Fit Sport 5MT is drag limited to ~114mph. There is no electronic limiter. With regards to your speed, did you use a GPS device to measure your speed? Speedometers are inaccurate at high speed. Also, were you sure you were on flat land. There could have been a slight grade.

125 is abit much.. I think it COULD get up there, but not with the hp it has now.. id like to see proof of that.

no gps, just the speedometer, it could be off a little.
I also have the summit racing crank pulley, so that may have helped.
I'm curious to see what others are getting on their A/T fit.
Try it in a safe place, and post ur results!

I really have a hard time believing 125mph.

I had my '00 Civic EX 5-speed up to 120mph, and it took forever to get there. I'm confident in saying that I could never reach that speed in my Fit, especially with less power and being less aerodynamic. The Fit feels lethargic at speeds any higher than 80-85mph.

110 with ease and still throttle to spare...not sure what is going on with you skeptics. Didnt take overly long to get there. I felt pretty confident at that speed, but steering is ultra sensitive...Did it this morning on an open stretch of a parkway. Oh, and A/c was on too.

Must be you have different results that I do. Im assuming that wot=wide open throttle first of all. If not, disregard all this. When I punch it, doesnt even have to be full throttle the a/c completely (or seemingly completely) shuts off and blows room temp air. If throttle is left wide open it will cycle back on after about 20 secs or so. I would much prefer that it stayed on and if I wanted that extra few horsies it takes up I would simply turn it off.

Not to hate, but what's the point of Top Speed? I mean, at least here for the states, the highest Max Speed sign I've ever come across was 75 mph. I guess it's the "cool" factor just to see how high it can go, but I think it would be more important how quick the car gets up off the line and how it handles. It does in fact contain a 1.5L motor.

Sorry, ignore my hating guys!!

Not so much a cool factor, just another facet of the car. And for the record, some states do not have official speed limits like Montana highways where no limit as long as it is "reasonable and prudent." Besides the 0-60 time will never be anything to write home about on my Fit, but saying it topped out over 125 might be slightly noteworthy.

Oh, Montana is the POOP.

See, I don't agree with the 125 being noteworthy just for the simple fact is that I have a Turbocharged Sentra and I don't see 125 at all. I mean, that isn't even important to me. I'm much more satisfied that I can pick up from a stop and do some instant passing on the highway then to take it up that high. Just personal preference, I guess.

Done 100 and the Fit was very stable. I don't think i'd push it much higher than that without some suspension mods IMO. I miss my 5.0 stang. Got her to 145+ (that's as far as the speedo went up to but the line was way past it so who really knows). Now that was a rush! Those white lines were a blur.

Those are LINES? I thought they were dots!!

Fastest I've been is 135 in my Tiburon, but that was against the wind on I10 out in west Texas. Without a headwind, it should get up to about 153, where it is mechanically limted by the rev limiter and gearing ratios.

I know this is kinda old but there's not much traffic on these forums. Montana has had an official speedlimit for years now. 75 on interstates out of the city, 65 in urban areas, 70 on other highways.

Reasonable and prudent ended before I could drive. And I'm 23 now. I'm kinda sad I never got to experience that, actually

My uncle was joking about that one time, he told me there used to be no speed limit but they have to change it, he said now the tickets you get are cheap?. He was joking around saying that if that is the case if it is like ten bucks he said he would give them like 30 and tell them you will see me a little down the road

I'll have to conduct my own max speed test. My 96 Civic wouldn't go past 115, I'll try to max out the Fit soon.

Sadly, the tickets here are not cheap and they do have a license point system and affect your insurance.

They used to be $5 back when there was a national 55 speed limit. Then there was no speed limit. Now it's like in any other state.
