What is your top reason for buying a FIT?

Thought this would be fun to poll people to see the reasons why they would buy a FIT. Hopefully i it had not been posted yet but i could be wrong. Let the polling begin...

Sorry no prize for the top reason.

Seems like there was a glitch in the post, Sorry. Seems to have fused some other threads with this post.

Mine soon will be to be different from those dam Civic owners. Just want to be different. Also keep the cops off my ass, even if I mod my Fit a lil. Exhuast and what not.

Drive a high mileage, low pollution, car, w/o feeling like driving a cheap econobox. i don't like how econoboxes "must" be a cheap driving experience

Main reason was to have a safety updated car in a form factor like my beloved '84 Civic Wagon.

Secondary reasons - High mileage - overestimated gas prices for this year, I expected them to be over $4. Low(er) pollution in a fun-to-drive package are bonuses.

Editforgot) "It's a Honda!"

"It's a Honda" kept creaping up in our conversation when we were looking for a car. But the main reason*s* we chose the Fit are:

Price for what you get.
Honda name.
Airbags.
Magic seats - which are awesome!
Hatchback.
Styling.
There isn't one on every corner. (We drove an Impala before and they are everywhere!!!!)

From my prospective the most car for the Money. Allot of car for around $16k. Side curtain air bags, Japanese Honda "fit and finish"(second to none), Performance, roomyness, ride quality, Gas Mileage....and $100+ / month less than a Civic Si...(which is made in Canada). I've owned many Hondas and there is a Huge difference between a Japanese "Made" Honda and an "American" Made Honda.....just like the S2000 is made on the same assembly line as the NSX.....JDM-all the Way.....

I have a few reasons. BTW, Im new.
Im getting the Fit for:
1. Gas mileage.
2. Its nice
3. Price
4. Its a Honda
5. Easy to drive
6. Not fast, wont be tempted to race it. Although Im sure I will.

I just sold my Probe GT. Over all it was a nice car, quick and gets 26mpg (good for a turbo car). I love the car actually, I bought it off a friend for $500. Did suspension, chip, MBC, and wheels/tires.
Car ran a 14.5@98 with the stock clutch. I just installed an ACT. I sold it for $1200.

I order my Fit tomorrow. Hope I get it somewhat fast.

I need something to replace my aging Civic. We also own an '03 Accord. Cargo carrying capacity has never been great in any of our cars, and I'm not about to buy a minivan or pickup. So....

Number one - it's a Honda.
Number two - roomy enough for occasional transporting of 'stuff'.
Number three - best handling small car for the money. Handling is more important than engine power or amenities to me, so the Fit seems to meet my needs quite well.
Number four - it's very cool.

Now all I need is for it to actually be built....

Safety should be a poll option.

That was what ultimately made me pick the Fit over anything else. I narrowed my choices down to Mazda 3 Sport and the Fit Sport. I decided to give up a little performance advantage that the Mazda had and go with the vehicle with better safety and fuel economy.

And since I owned a Honda Pilot outright that I was trading, I knew I would get better trade value at Honda then at Mazda. Ended up getting a new car and several thousand dollars! Thank you Honda!

That was actually a major reason for me, too. Seems like, for every Fit I see, there's about 10 Civics on the road, lol.

I bought mine simply because I liked the look, the features, and I'd heard a lot of positive things about it. It "Fits" my needs as a commuter, and it's a pretty good car.

it FITS

Our '94 Acura integra is over 200kmi, and we both thought it would be nice to get something that was more convenient in ability to carry stuff, but still be a small car, good mpg, and fun. I had been watching the magazine write ups the last six months, and was keen on it being able to fold the rear seats flat, and access that room with both a low edge hatchback (in the past I have owned a '77 accord hatchback and 2 N600 sedans) as well as through the rear doors.

the FIT is all we hoped for, except for average mpg, the quality of the assembled parts is top notch, the finish is equal to an Accord, and we both appreciate the go-kart like driving feel of its small size.

one thing my wife has commented on, is how many people have came to her and said how cute it was. she likes that. I had one guy ask me as I was walking away from parking it, if it was truely a FIT "Si" (i put the civic Si badge on the rear) I told him no, its a joke between me and my friend.
it is nice to have a car, that at the moment, is unique different one of a kind, and not just like 3 or 4 others as you sit at the stop light.

from looking at other similar cars, matrix, aveo, rabbit, in traffic this style of microcar hatchback is popular.
I think the Honda is the most thought out in some ways.

it looks like honda wants to come out with a hybrid fit, but that might take to 2009 to arrive. so we bought a 2007 HONDA FIT.

I started my car search due to high gas prices, so Fuel Economy was #1.
I chose the Fit over all other cars I considered because:
  • The quality and reliability of Hondas
  • The driving enjoyment of the Fit
  • The fun and flexibility of a hatchback
  • The magic seats
  • ABS & side curtain airbags
  • The Fit is not a stripped econobox
  • High resale value
  • It reminds me of my '85 Civic 1500S Hatchback

The looks.
The space.
How it drives.
And it IS a Honda made in Japan.
