Can I plug ipod into USB and leave it?

I searched the forum looking for the same question but nada came up.

Is there a problem if I leave my ipod hooked to the USB all the time? Seems like a pain to unplug it every time I get out of the car.

Thanks.

The only issue is heat. Heat slowly destroys lithium ion batterys. I store mine under the seat, probably the coolest place in a car, when I leave the car for a long time in the sun.

The problem with leaving it plugged in all the time is it will eventually kill your device and or its batteries, that line is always on even when car is shut down so your ipod or iphone will be powered on mode the whole time because its always plugged in and live. Meaning if you left your car parked in a parking lot for a month the whole month the ipod will be powered on.
