Strange String

We have owned our VBP Sport AT for 6 days now. Dealer filled the tank, we drove 239 miles and filled her up (7.27 gallons). Wow, thats 32.9 mpg. Not bad for the an infant. The wife really wanted a Red one but all that was available (coming in) when we ordered 2 months ago was Vivid Blue Pearl or Storm Silver. We put money down on both (two separate dealers who really just took our cr card # and didn't charge on it). The Silver came in first and the wife didn't like, kinda plain looking she said. So that left us with the VBP. I liked the VBP best but she still was saying she wished a red one was available. Then we got the call, the VBP was in and we could pick her up. Well when we saw that car that color we were amazed. The wife loves the color. She agrees that it is the best color even over the red. It is sooo sharp, sooo stylish, sooo sporty!

Fan-damn-tastic!!!

Now on to my thread title. Just noticed an elastic sting hanging from the bottom of the drivers door, coming out from the door panel. It can be seen at this link:

http://public.fotki.com/570215/honda...photo#dsc00831

(I know, I have to figure out how to put photos here but for now this is it.)

Can anyone help me figure out what this string is doing there? Where it came from? Why it is in the door? What should I do with it? It doesn't seem to alter anything in the door, just a string hanging there. I pulled it and it does seem to move something inside so I quit.

Please help.

Thanks

BD

Ah yeah, the string forgot about that. I had it too. I just pulled it out and threw it away. Not sure why it's there, but the car runs fine and have not seen any odd behavior with windows, door. etc. My guess is it's something from the packing when they shipped it that didn't get totally removed during prep. I could be wrong though, so don't quote me.

I had that stupid thing in my drivers door too. So I took the door panel off to have a look and it has nothing to do with the door function so just pull it out and discard. Must be something in the manufacturing process that got left behind.

its part of the pre delivery packing. The person who did the pdi/ncd on the car at the dealer was too lazy to pull it out. alot of cars you will notice still have the clear adhesive on the carpets, around the edges of the seat mounts and door sills. It's because the person who was getting the car ready to deliver to you was rushing.

I've got it too. I kinda forgot about it. It's still there, I think, just a little tiny piece. I don't even notice it .

Maybe the string leads to the auxillary fuel tank.

Better not cut that baby off... yet.

Hey that picture doesn't open for me!
Shucks.

I had the same thing. It dangled from my door for weeks. When I went to the dealership to get my tags, the service department guy just got in and yanked it right out. I felt kinda of dumb after that, but it's my first new car, so I didn't know any better!
