Vinyl car wrap?

For some reason the search function is not working for me today, and it hasn't been for a while. Not sure if that's my fault or what, but have any of you put a vynyl car cover on your car in order to change the color?

Gawa has on his GD3, and i am planning on it after winter. there are various companies that make the vinyl, although I believe Gawa used Hexis and I will be using Hexis. Look in the pictures section for his thread.

AH, thank you. Do you have any idea off hand how much it costs?

Protip:

When searching, don't bother with the site's search function. Go to Google and type out in the search box:

site:www.whateversiteyouwant.com and your search terms

for example:

site:www. fitfreak.net vinyl wrap

This is the result: https://www.google.com/search?q=site...+wrap&start=10

It will give you results limited to this site and is easier to navigate.

The vinyl for my car will be in the 400-450 range, but I will have some left over. Typically it is sold in 60" wide sheets and a variety of lengths. You will have waste so it is better to have to much(within reason) than to little.

Whichever brand (vinyl wrap) you go with make sure it's one that is easily removed when the time comes.

Ah, thank you, I'll check that out. Its funny, my car looks navy on a cloudy day, but in full sun, it really IS nice looking. Typical.

That's the SAME thing I found out when I got my Vortex Blue!! I picked it up on a cloudy, overcast day. Are we reconsidering the repaint??

That is what "Pearl" paint does as there are secondary colors in the pearl which can cause the vehicle to look differently depending on light.

Ah, well, that makes sense. Some cars don't do that, and some do. My CR-V looked very green on cloudy days, and just faded nothing when the sun was out. I hated it. It was that opal sage color, yuck.

As for a repaint, I think I'll just leave it alone. I'll still paint my dude's truck, though, when he's ready for that. It doesn't matter how that thing looks, ha ha.
