Thanks to Claymore
Thanks to Claymore
I'd just like to give a public thank you to Claymore for helping me out with my dilemma...i was trying to install indiglo gauges but didn't know what wires to tap to power the gauges. Thanks to Claymore, i got pointed in the right direction...
Tried to post in the "Fit Inside" forum, but no responses. Perhaps people were not digging the fact that i'm a Tiburon owner....i'm sure this modification has been done before....i don't know what it is about Honda people....even on the Tiburon forums we help out people with other makes of cars...that's the point of these forums....
Well, just trying to help out a friend who's a Jazz owner..
Once again, thanks Claymore, i hope other's on this forum appreciate your expertise and helpfulness.

No problem that's why we are here to help out other members. Other members here don't bag out other car makes they probably weren't positive (pun) about the what to tell you so they held back. This is a good friendly forum with only a little friendly flaming going on so feel free to ask for help on any other problems that pop up and tell your friends about us.
I don't think it's the fact that you're a Tiburon owner, but rather the fact that since the Fit is a fairly new car over here, no one or at least not very many people have installed indiglo guages. Do a search for 'indiglo' and see how many threads come up with that term. THREE!!! And two of them are by you!!!!! Also add to the fact that you state you're installing the guages into a JDM spec car. Majority of owners on this board have the North American version, so therefore if they had replied to you, the answer could have been wrong!!!
You only have 2 posts, so unless you're a lurker, you couldn't have been around for that long. Everyone on the boards tries to help each other when they can. It's just in this case, no one could help you.
Also, it's not like you posted your question a week ago and no one replied. 24 hours had not even elapsed since you posted the original question!!!!
Your opinion that no one here wanted to help you as you don't drive a Fit is quite narrow minded.

Well my post could have been possibly spurned by the fact that i searched every single fit forum on God's green earth and got no answers, and i had to register for every forum just to do a search/post...
The fit/jazz has been around for a couple of years now, i don't see how a simple question about headlight wiring would be something that hasn't been addressed before...i can understand if no-one has installed indiglo gauges, i simply asked which wire is the correct one for me to tap into - no big deal. I can understand the fit is relatively novice to the US market, but there are a litany of members here from other locales where the fit/jazz have had a market presence for several years now...
I doubt that the the basic electrical system on JDM and USDM spec cars would be any different. Differences in exterior aesthetics, yes. Engine, check. Accessories, slightly. But wiring is wiring no matter where the car is produced.
24 hours is plenty of time for a response for such a rudimentary question. I wasn't asking how to install high compression pistons, or titanium valve springs. One wire is all i need. And answers can be based on "educated guesses" not necessarily definitive facts. Sometimes if members throw around a few suggestions, it will ultimately lead to the correct answer - in other words, "brainstorming".
Anyway, as i said, thanks to Claymore i have my questions answered. As far as my "narrow-mindedness" i used the word "perhaps" - so it was by no means a definitive statement. And my theory was based on previous experience on other car afficionado forums...and no i'm not a lurker, i have no reason to have my presence in a fit forum had it not been for the fact i'm helping out a jazz owner...
I hope that the site content begins to expand in the future and incorporate more information, particularly in the DIY department. I'm sure if there were more members such as Claymore, novices to the Fit such as myself would breeze through elementary issues...

There's a link to a sticky in the DYI section with the JDM Jazz/Fit service manual. That manual would have given you the information you desired.
Sometimes when looking for information you have think outside the box.
