I live near Harrisonburg VA there is about 5 or 6 places here that sell it, however on a trip it is pretty much impossible for me to find it without going out of my way. Southern states a petroleum distributor here has it at their pumps and I assume the local independent stations probably buy it from them. averages 10 to 20 cents more per gallon here. Best advice I have is Google it to find your local stations that sell non ethanol gas.

Here they put 10% ethanol in the gas. The non-ethanol gas price is more than 10% higher than the ethanol gas. So if you get 10% less mpg with ethanol gas, it still isn't worth the extra $$$ for non-ethanol gas. I'm talking from a mpg aspect only.

For me it adds up to about the same cost per mile but I run it regardless! according to my Mechanic/Friend it is better for the engine and fuel system.

I agree! Plus you can get more miles out of a tank...if that's important.

With 80mph your desired speed, that long hill up to Asheville, 31mpg is pretty good.

The Fit with its small displacement isn't the best mpg highway car, a Civic would actually be better suited.

I've cruised to FL several times this year. keeping it around 75 on 75 I can manage 34mpg.

In the FL Keys where it's flat and speeds are a constant lazy 45mph it'll do 40+mpg all day...

My daily drive around Atlanta has changed from mostly freeways (36mpg) to mostly suburban stop and go 45mph 4-lanes roads (30mpg).

It's a good little car but won't work miracles.

- Without being annoying and staying safe, leave space between you and car in front, use brakes as little as possible. Time your accelerations to the lights ahead so you can coast as much as possible

- on flat roads, say i'm going 40+ mph, i try to get to 5th gear asap and coast in 5th.

- on hwy i stay about 65-70 mph.
