Is the USA Fit aftermarket dead in the water?

I've been monitoring this forum and others for quite some time. It seems like most jdm parts won't fit the US version of the fit, and not a lot of companies are willing to make parts that will. As of right now, not a lot is really offered in the way of suspension, no dash kit for aftermarket headunits yet, serious lack of performance mods, etc..
Do you think more parts will come out and it is just early on, or is this as good as it will get?

I think things are just getting going. With probably less than 10,000 Fits sold there just aren't that many out there yet. (How many did you see today?)
Check the Fit Trix threads, there are intake, exhaust, coilovers, brace things of all kinds, springs, etc. What is still missing and under development are turbo and superchargers and swap kits. It will come. They have to do their R&D.

It was the same story in the rest of the world. It was more than a year after release in 2001/2002 before a lot of aftermarket parts started becoming available for the Jazz / Fit.

R&D takes time and the developers of these parts didn't have access to the vehicle any sooner than other consumers.

It just takes a bit of time for things to be researhed and manufactured, just wait awhile and it'll unravel eventually.

The USDM car is still new. R&D for upgrades takes a little time.

these things take ALOT of time. Seibon is test fitting carbon fiber parts right now and they should be available the end of the month.

Patience my grasshoper...

If you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape a hundred days of sorrow. From a Chinese proverb

For what cannot be cured, patience is best. From an Irish proverb

Patience is a virtue that causes no shame. Some proverb that I don't know where it came from

The Honda Motor Corporation almost singlehandedly re-invented on a mass scale this new aftermarket rice tuning generation. I can't see them stopping on this continent. Be patient. We are gonna be what the civic was. (hmmm!)

I know the agony.., I was crying when I had my Mazda Protege 5.

I'm not sure what you expect. The car has been out for less than 4 months.

I'm the opposite - I'm shocked there is so much to choose from already.

Give it time ;p

would you expand on the items you have looked at, who sells them, why they dont fit? just what are you looking for?
the fit is a 2007 early release. sure its september 06, but what would you buy if it would be for sale? have you looked at the many japanese websites that offer items for sale, such as japanparts.com?

I would be more interested in perf parts, but so many of the posts on fitfreak.net seem to be more liking interior mood lights, moonroofs, and different colored interior trim items, or similar items that cry out "look at me".

I wonder what the most popular accessory would be, if available?

Man, this car has been out since April and the amount of Aftermarket Support is OUTSTANDING! within the first two months it had already surpassed the aftermarket support for the Suzuki Aerio and it will just keep going..

there are plenty of us companies creating knockoffs of parts so there will be plenty to choose from. if you're looking for the authentic parts then the price will be high but you'll still be able to find these parts from people like me and ajr. then it's pretty much up to who has the better price for product or shipping or availability.
