I just submitted a final payment and paid off my Sport AT one year early!! All I can do now is wait for it to post and then await the delivery of my best mod ever.....MY TITLE IN HAND!!

Total mileage at time of payoff: 35,355

AND I STILL HAVE A WARRANTY!!!!

Were you paying for it for the past 5 yrs?
Is that by choice or financial difficulties and it's hard to come up with few chunks to pay it off quicker?

I know everyone is in different situation. I would personally never finance a vehicle again. I've had an experience doing this few yrs ago, and then I lost a job... glad that nightmare is over. Now if I can't afford to pay if all off at once, I can't afford it.

Most people are not in a position to buy a car in cash; just like a home. I've been at my job for 27 years and fear of losing my job is simply non-existent.

Congratulations!

Congratulations on paying off your Fit! When my '07 was totalled in a H&R accident, the insurance settlement check and some cash of my own enabled me to buy my '12 outright! Not having notes, or a payment book IS a great feeling! Now it's two years old and I've just turned a little over 12k on it LOL!!
'12 VBP Sport 5MT w/minor appearance & comfort mods!!

Congratulations on the payoff! I remember how good it felt to pay the house off.

Financing a vehicle can also be useful if you have the cash, but it's earning more interest than the special deal low interest of the car loan. Having a loan periodically also helps maintain your credit rating.

Congratulations! I'm not looking forward to trading in my title with trade in for a new car and a loan. :-)
