Type R. Do you think.....?

the civic type r is like 40k in europe if they made a FTR it would be way too expensive. Plus the Type R is already a hatchback and as i understand it (i could be totally wrong) but i seem to remember the civic isn't even in production in japan anymore.

We don't even have a Civic Type-R after all these years, so no. You will never see a Fit Type-R being sold here. Plus building fun, sporty cars isn't a high priority of Honda anymore. At least not in the US.

Here's what qualified the 1997 Acura Integra to be a Type R.

This is not to take anything away from the original Type R. That car was ahead of it's time and awesome for what it was (and is).
So if you want a Fit Type R, you can do the following -->
1) Stiffen up the suspension and chassis,
2) Get better brakes,
3) Reduce the weight,
4) Light to medium N/A engine mods,
And you'll pretty much have a Fit Type R in my opinion. I mean, I have a measly Auto LX CVT with light/untuned N/A mods and I'm running right there with a stock Type R in a straight line (not speed but quickness). A GK manual has more hope than I think you guys give credit too. You have a Fit Type R right in your hands....right now. Just sayin'.......
And with better fuel economy to boot.

Sounds more like a Fit Si. Type-R to me always meant that the engine was special. Even though the later Type-Rs didn't get the same TLC as the original ones did, they still had fancy internals in most cases.

I bet now that they have normal Honda trims LX/EX, I could see the RS brought over as a Sport like the current accord. BTW I doubt most of you know this but the previous CTR was based off the 2nd gen Fit. Like already mentioned, there was no 8th gen civic in Japan/Europe.
