Consensus on best tire prices....

Is the general consensus that Tire Rack has the best prices? They've already beat my local tire shop by about $45 per tire but are their any other reputable sites to consider?

I'm considering the Yokohama Ascend. Anybody else running them and what is the difference between H- or V- rated? I'm guessing the V means speed rated?

I just bought some tires from Amazon with free Prime shipping. Came out cheaper than TR because of the shipping.

Have you looked at Discount Tire? They give free rotations as well.

Does your Tire Rack price include shipping, mounting and balance?

I usually get the Tire Rack price including shipping mounting and balance, take that information to my local dealer and ask if they will come close to the Tire Rack price.
Usually they get close enough for me to use them.

That said, if you want a specific brand, Tire Rack is probably the best place to go because of their size and variety of tire choices.

Not only are they a long time sponsor of the forum but they normally have the best price, I'm ordering my next set through Tire Rack and having my tire shop install them

When I go to Tire Rack I go direct to their warehouse. No shipping but I have to pay sales tax. I also have to add $10.00 per tire for mounting and balancing. I believe Tire Rack has multiple warehouse locations scatted across the country. You need to ask if there is one close to you.

I'm headed over there in the next few weeks to replace 4 motorhome tires and 2 Honda Fit tires.

It had a bent rear beam assembly that caused the rear wheels to be out of line. My daughter fixed the problem so now it can use 2 new rear tires.

Your daughter fixed the problem? You're lucky to have a daughter like that.

Having bought more than a thousand tires over the net I can say honestly the TR doesnt mtly have the best prices except on specialty, including high peformance, tires. usually due to shipping charges. Their reference data is the best available so $10 per tire extras cost is forgiven.
but if you are looking for good street tires check as many sites as you can. many with have cheaper prices delivered to you.
ditto wheels. and one sight to always look is discounttires web site. wheels too.
cheers.

H is 130 mph rated max speed; V is 149mph rated. the difference will usually be weight and tire tread formulation, and generally the higher the speed rating the lower the UTOG, or tread life.
we've people with the Yoko Ascend and they liked them on their street cars.
