I have a 2007 LX (automatic ) with aftermarket header and exhaust. Since purchasing the car I have noticed a significant pungent odour from the exhaust. I have a 97 GM pickup and a 2010 Ford Flex and have owned or driven dozens of other vehicles over the past 18 years and nothing compares to what comes out of the pipe of the Fit… curious what it could be?

My first thought is its running rich and I am smelling unburnt gas but I just got 37mpg on my last tank. The other thought is they cut out the cat and I am smelling hydrogen sulphide... but I confirmed its is still inline with the exhaust, maybe its dead? but car only has 70,000kms, or hollowed out? but why not just cut it out?

Obviously I only notice it when I start it up especially in my garage so not sure if its puking out the stink while driving or just at startup. Ideas?

 

I'm just waiting the fart jokes to start.
