It's good to know that not everyone likes things blacked out.

Yes it's legal to have yellow tint here in Alabama, and guess what IT'S LEGAL IN CALIFORNIA TOO. Red, Amber and Blue are the only "color" restrictions in Cali.. Amber and Yellow are not the same.

If you or anyone else wants to know what tints you can or can't have legally here in the U.S. here is the U.S. tint laws http://www.iwfa.com/iwfa/Law_Chart/L...art%204-06.pdf.

If you think there may be a chance that you would be pulled over for your tint just print out the .pdf above and carry it in your glove box to prove the cops wrong. It was last updated on 4-28-2006.

I could feel a little improvement with the DIY CAI but haven't done a Dyno yet. I need to find a level stretch of road to run one. Not just flat but level. I have all the info I need now it's just a matter of finding the spot to do it.

I ran it on a road with a very slight downgrade and came up with 143hp at 5900 rpm and 130 lb/ft torque at 5700 rpm but that's useless info without the road being level.

I have a couple places in mind to get the #'s. One is along the lake where the road stays level with the lake. The other is calling the Huntsville Dragway and asking them if their dragstrip is "level" and seeing if I can make a few runs. Once I finally get the #'s I'll post the info in a new thread.

I was going for 1 of a kind and I doubt there's anyone with the same look. so thanks I'll keep working on it.

Just curious, just what did you do to your engine to get 143hp? Not calling BS or anything, I just want to know 'cause the only NA Fit that I know that gets that kind of power would be a Top Fuel tuned JDM Fit at 142.7hp, and that's like $6k for the tune. How are you measuring it, also?

You must have missed the last few words of that sentence so here they are again. "that's useless info without the road being level".

In other words the numbers are NOT CORRECT. In order to get good numbers the road needs to be "level". If it was an uphill grade the numbers would be low, that was a downgrade so the numbers were high.

I wrote the Huntsville Dragway and asked if their drag strip is level or not so I can get some accurate numbers doing a rolling dyno.

Short of surveying some roads to find a level one the only other way I can think of is to do the runs on a road that runs along side the lake and stays the same hight above the water all the way. Running it in both directions the #'s should stay the same or be extreemly close over several runs.

I doubt if the road commissioner would know which roads are "level" and at what markers (specific locations).

I'm trying to get some power/torque #'s using a Dyno-Scan Palm by Auterra. So far it's a pain in the butt.

All that run did was it gave me an idea that if I can find a "level" patch of road it should work since I knew that was a slight downgrade I expected the #'s to be close but a little high and they were.

I'm thinking the hp should be close to 120 with the CAI and racing header with no catalytic converter.

Once I find a good level spot and get measurements that are the same going in either direction then I'll know that it's getting good numbers and since it's supposed to be within 1%-2% of a stationary dynos accuracy I'll live with that.

And I'll post all the info used for the runs so anyone else that wants to try it can without having to find all the info like I did (the hard way).

I would also like to have a stationary dyno run just to confirm my findings so I have something to compare it too. Then I would like to make the same runs on a unmodified sport M/T for a base to compare to.

Now do you understand how I came up with those #'s and why they are high ? Hope so, since I don't know how else to explain it.

Had a feeling I shouldn't have posted them but I thought I made it clear that they were inaccurate.

You're welcome. I sure will. I don't see a response from the dragstrip owner in my email yet. I may just run down there and see if he's there to find out and maybe see if he'll let me run the track in both directions to see if the #'s match up.

Wish I knew if there is a scale at the track though since it's another 90 miles or so round trip to hit the truck stops cat scale and it weighs in 20# increments. A track scale for cars should be more accurate I would think.

Today is "Test & Tune Day". It would be a perfect day for it since there is a light breeze, it's about 68 degrees and not a cloud in the sky.

Yesterday I considered putting my Fit in the Hot Rod 'Toberfest car show but it was too close to the end of the show (1.5 hours left) to be worth the fee. Next time I'll be early.

Thanks, and you take it easy too.
