Help! Do I need an extended warranty?

I will be picking up a red 2015 Fit EX with manual transmission on Monday! It's been a long time since I bought a car - since 2000. The dealer is pushing an extended warranty which I normally wouldn't consider, but this car has a lot of electronics on it. So I'm looking for feedback! Should I buy it? Or not?

Pass on the warranty, but put the warranty payments in a savings account to pay for anything the warranty would pay. You'll probably come out ahead.

I never buy extended warranties for any of my cars.

DON'T BUY ONE FROM YOUR DEALER!!!! If you want one buy one from College Hills Honda or other online dealers. They sell them for about half of what your dealer wants.

The problem I've seen with extended warranties is that they can deny any claim they please and then you are stuck with the bill.

NO. The analysis is easy: if extended warranties worked in the buyers' favor (when viewed as a group; one can never predict any individual outcome) they wouldn't be sold.

What Clifton said.

With an extended warranty, you are betting the cost of the warranty that the car will break down. If you have that little faith in any product you are considering buying.....keep searching.
