Just thought I'd mention that the October '06 edition of Best Motoring (JDM release, not BMI) has a hatchback shootout w/ the Suzuki Swift Sport, Daihatsu Boon X4, Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart Version R, and Fit 1.5S. I only quickly skimmed through it, but the Fit was 3rd and 4th on the driver's rankings, but was in 1st for at least the first two laps of the final race (didn't finish it all yet). You may want to hunt around for this vid.

Fit finishes last. Oh well, it led for the first 2 laps anyway. That mitsubishi looks pretty cool.

Sadly 'tis true, but the other cars are newer and have a better power/weight ratio which is gonna help of course. The Fit basically lost it on the back straight due to lack of power, though it seemed to push a bit through some of the turns and that didn't help either.

 

the fit didnt look like it did too bad. It just looked like it lacked power. Was it the Vtec 1.5 or the i-dsi?

I would redo that shootout in gran turismo and win with the fit.

 

heh, good eye there. At least in GT4 we can bump the P/W ratio up to insane levels super easy, wish it were true in real life. I think the Fit did well too, especially considering all the cars placed in the order of highest to lowest P/W ratio -- kinda hard to hold off cars w/ ~130hp for too long.

 

Yeah that Mitsubishi has 150hp I think. (with MIVEC)
