fit manual delayed
If your shows up first, let me know - our are obviously on the same boat. Likewise, I'll let you know.....
I'm hoping for the end of next week, which would be 3 1/2 weeks from the build date (I was told probably 10/9 for the build date, but I know they're never certain. What was yours, if you know?). I spoke with the dealer today, and they often see 3.5 weeks from build to delivery.

My build date was 10/15. I watched the manager go through the computer. Mine and a silver one (member on here already has it) are/were the only 5speeds expected to show up at Classic Honda till after January.
I was told 3-4 weeks from today. "3 hopefully, but no promises." So far everything is happening SO FAST. It was built in 2 days (from 10/15)
I was looking through their shipment papers. There was a Fit that was shipped on 10/19 and is expected to show up tomorrow or Sat. Mine didnt have a shipped date yet. I really dont know how often that paper work is updated. Id hope daily?

There was no new info on the computer today for mine. I was watching as the sales manager brought it up on the screen. He also showed me that it was a dealer trade that I got - he couldn't get any MTs in his allocation, and they are one of the largest delaers around.

Depression is defiantly a possiblity. Everytime I turn around I get more bad news. I tried to settle for an auto blue ( want orange m/t ) but the dealer marked it up $5000.00 and I am already upside down in my civic, so there was no way in hell to roll the differance and get financed, and that is not the way I want to own a fit. I am seeing huge dealer mark up, they told me "its just buisiness" what a bunch of crap.
Got it
Finally picked up my VBP sport with M/T yesterday. #24209 It was about dark when I got to leave the dealership and had to drive 90 minutes back home. I think they kept me there a long time because of other customers who wanted to see the Fit. Anyhow not much to report, but it did seem to drive pretty good. I would have drove it more today but its been pouring the rain, and hate to get it dirty because it is so shined up. Will post a more detailed review when I hit the road again with it.
I had ordered my manual fit sport (storm silver) on Sept. 7. I had spoken to my sales person today and he told me the slow down in production is true. Just because most of the manual transmissons are going into civics. He told me it might take an additional 1 to 2 months for it to arrive. Which sucks concidering it will be Jan. or Feb. when I receive it. Anyone in the same boat as me? If so do you think it would be wrong to ask them to throw in the all weather floor mats for having to wait so long? Just because he told me that they don't come with floor mats. I really can't wait to get this car. I test drove the auto sport model this weekend and it was ok. It's just not as fun to drive like a manual is. Also the auto is slightly heavier and when it comes to performance usually manuals are the way to go. I guess good things come to those who wait.

I wouldn't ask for free stuff because of the wait. It's pretty well documented that you will have to wait for months to get your fit, especially a manual.
It's also well documented that dealers are allocated manuals based on certain factors, which some smaller dealers may not easily fulfill.
<~~~~~ordered manual sport on 6/30/06, build date of 10/28/06. Now it's wait time.
Yeah I guess you are right. I'm not trying to be cheap or anything. Besides their only floor mats. I guess I could start buying some performance mods in the time I'm waiting. Also I guess its cool because winter time will be half way over by the time I get it. Like I said before. Good things come to those who wait. I appreciate your thoughts and good luck when you get your's.
