FS: AZ 1987 BMW 635CSi 5sp E24
FS: AZ 1987 BMW 635CSi 5sp E24
For sale is my E24. I purchased this car in May of 2008 with 102k on it. Its been my daily driver / road trip car. Very reliable and dependable. It is for sale because I purchased an 85 M635CSi, and only have room for one E24. Here are the details on the car:
1987 635CSi
5 speed (original)
131,000 mi
Exterior:
Delphin Grey
Original Paint, in very good shape (see photos below)
Rust free (norcal, Oregon, AZ car)
1 small ding on top of left front quarter
1 tiny ding on trunk from where someone put a part down too hard (I guess)
Couple of small fade spots, noticeably by the washer fluid nozzles
Several small scuffs
Typical paint chips from road rash
Front air dam cracked
Interior:
Black leather
Manual sport seats (swapped from an E30 M3 by PO).
Rear A/C
Plastic Slide levers (the ones on the upper sides of the seats) on sport seats missing / cracked
Leather in good shape, typical patina, no tears
Dashboard in very good shape. Just noticed a couple of small cracks (~1” in length or less), which I am working to find a vinyl repair guy around here. Dash was crack free when I bought it, and I used a dash carpet, but, I guess the AZ sun was too much. I pulled the dash carpet off for pics and found that. Much cussing ensued.
Carpet in excellent shape.
Full toolkit.
Everything works sans OBC (windows, sunroof, AC, heater, etc).
A/C will keep car cool in stop/go phx traffic, at 110 degrees.
Small squeak from heater blower motor when it has set idle for a while, but it goes away.
Mechanical:
Excellent shape. Much work has been done while I've had it, and prior to my ownership. Highlights in the last 40k miles:
94k PS pump, belts
100k Bilstein Tourings
106k All transmission seals
Rear main seal
Clutch (M5)
Idler Arm, Center link, Tie rods
All coolant hoses
Plugs, wires, cap, rotor
Tranny mounts
Center Driveshaft Bearing
Guibo
119k Driveshaft
Diff (3.73 LSD)
Expansion Block, Receiver Drier, Hi Pressure Switch, Misc o-rings, r12 charge
Vibration Dampener
Thermostat
Water pump
Upper / Lower Timing Cover Seals
Oil Pan Gasket
122k Front Rotors & Pads
Rear rotors & pads
128k In tank fuel pump
130k Replace all engine compartment fuel lines
All other routine maintenance has been completed and documented. Scanned records available upon request. I have receipts that stem back to the original owner. If anything broke during my tenure, I either fixed it or had it fixed.
A valve adjustment is due in 1000mi.
Mods:
UUC-SSK & Rob Knob shifter knob
3.73LSD
Turner Motorsport Chip
Alpine CD player head unit (does not play MP3) with upgraded speakers (2 amp system, including an 8" sub in trunk)
35% tint
M-tech spoiler
Needs:
OBC computer. I have a spare, just have not pulled it.
Very small oil leak, diagnosed by mechanic as coming from valve cover gasket, to be addressed with valve adjustment. It hasn’t left a spot in the last week, so its quite miniscule.
Pics:

Any other pics are available upon request.
Price:
My asking price for the vehicle is $7900. There are a lot of cheap E24s out there, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find one thats been this well sorted out, and this well cared for.
If you have any questions or comments about the vehicle, please do not hesitate.

I know this thread is old school, but what an awesome car. Post pictures of your 02 M5.
How much did you sell the 635 for? Such an awesome awesome car. 3.5 flat six, BBS rims, grey, 1970s, BMW.
If only they'd stop making the nonsense they now make- limited run specials not included.
