OMG never buy anything from another country and ship via UPS

Well my SS just came in...now I'm wishing I did the smart thing and cancelled my order with King and gotten it through AJ. Big mistake. I probably would have gotten it sooner from Ben too. Brokerage charges were $80!!! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?! Stupid UPS charged me $45 alone for brokerage fee...the customs and duties were only $15. As you can tell, I am super pissed right now...

YeeFit, please help me install it...let me know when you got time, it'll be the only way I can justify this ridiculous fee. Speedtech wants to charge me at least an hour ($84)...I might have been able to justify that, but now when the god damn fee from UPS is almost half the freakin price of the shifter...

So pissed...I paid $100 more than what I would have paid if I got it through AJ...so if any of you guys want anything, go through AJ, this is just freakin ridiculous...

I have bought a lot of stuff from US vendors. If they say that they can only ship UPS, I don't do it because of what happened to you - it's a ripoff. The best by far is USPS, followed by DHL.

So get it installed and tell us how it is!!

Sorry to hear about what happened,
I'm from the states and when I saw that A&J was having a sale on the Short Shifter, I checked the conversion rate and saw that it was only $190 US. Today I checked the credit card statement and I was charged $219 US. After checking the price from King I found out I was actually paying $2 more than if I ordered from King. Anyways thought it was kind of funny that you paid more by ordering from King while I paid more for ordering from A&J.

Thanks for the sympathy...mannn I know what brown can do for me...shove the stupid brokerage fee up his @$$ thats what...

I realized Im paying 33% in brokerage fees...since I paid $240CAD for the shifter and shipping...

Mannnn DynamicFit, we shoulda swapped hahaha...

I agree, USPS is the best, I didn't even get charged for the Front Lip I bought! This package is like 20x smaller and I got dinged hard...I didn't think it would be this harsh, last time I had this happen to me was when I bought some floor mats and other stuff for my rents' G35...ended up paying $45 for brokerage fees for $150-$200 worth of stuff...

Did I mention I HATE BROWN?!?!?

I'll get some pics when I get a chance, I'll be getting a hand from YeeFit and he is on a tight schedule, so I probably won't be able to get it done until sometime next week. I'll keep y'all updated tho...oh snap...its stampede starting tomorrow for 10 days...I wont get anything done hahaha

Yup. Same thing happened to me about 15 years ago; UPS has been screwing people for decades. I will never ship by UPS again (even within the country); if a vendor only uses them, I shop somewhere else.

I HATE UPS! I try to avoid them whenever possible. They always deliver my stuff to the WRONG house.

I hate customs charges, once my bro had a replacement screw shipped for a paintball gun from the manufacturer.... a 45$ customs charge was placed on it for a 0.50 cent screw!!! Needless to say we rejected the package

haha, that was one reason I wanted to ship those eyelids we ordered as one item in case some retarded customs charge was thrown on, at least we can split it three ways

Best way to go in Canada is from Ben, I got my stuff the next day when I ordered from him! Was sweet!

I'll help you out man. I've installed a short shifter on my 00 Civic, but the Fit SS is different, so you'll have to be patient with me heh..

I just finished installing a full catback on my buddies 04 Altima actually.. only took me 45 minutes! Man I love WD40! hahaha

As for the UPS thing.. yep.. it sucks man.. I've been bent over backwards many o times by them. Usually if I get anything shipped from the US it has to go by USPS.. they don't charge brokerage.. just duties and gst. I just paid 226 to UPS last month for my wheels and my buddies intake.. I got such a good deal on the stuff that it was warrented IMO.

Hopefully I'll have some time to help u out.. maybe in the afternoon after the meet on Saturday.

Sweet deal, I may want to ask Ben to stuff a Buddy Club Condenser in there for me too when he sends the package out. Oh yeah, If you get talking to him maybe ask him to order one in if he dosn't carry them in stock.
