Racecity tonight Secret Street season opener

Hey folks, tonight will be the first night of Secret Street for 2009. If you want to come out and see some fast cars go down the 1/4 mile it's only $5. If you want to come and try yours out for the heck of it, it's only $25.

It's a lot of fun and would be nice to see a few Fits there!

I'll be there trying out the race civic

I think it might be raining out there soon

I am scared of the drag strip... it will already be bad enough running a 20 second 1/4 mile, but odds of me mis-shifting out of nervousness are very high as well... and the next set of odds that come to mind involve people posting clips of it on YouTube

You'll run 17 seconds first off and you will have multiple passes so even if you screw one up you'll get to try again.

It's a really fun experience and I do it cause I enjoy it not cause my car is fast. It's just about you getting better each time and learning little tricks to maximize what you have.

Rained a tiny bit downtown but the payment is still dry. I think it won't be very warm but we should be fine tonight.

man that was *** my car ran a best of 17.25, I tried doing corners 1-2-3 and spun in 3 cause the track and tires were too cold lol.

Then I ran slower and on my third pass my clutch started slipping

POS little engine haha can't wait to get something better in there. Might be changing out the clutch this weekend

17.25 is probably a full second quicker than my car

Yeah whoever owned the car before probably beat up on the clutch, you should pick up a new kit with a pressure plate; maybe something with an organic/ceramic compound?

You got to go on the track? As an event or just somebody let you try it out?

Awwww dammit, I just got a PM from Spencer. He said AutoX was running tonight!!

I had a friend that brought his race car down on a trailer to an autocross event there with R-comps on it, same thing. He spun it out a few times because he couldn't get the tires nice and toasty.

So Star-Trek... was freaking awesome!! Kind of feels like how the James Bond series was revived with a more raw and believable feel to it. It isn't like a clean sterile environment like the series, more like a dirty industrial ship, I was really impressed with how it was all tied together. Is the best movie since I have seen since Ironman to be honest.

Something is up with that engine it feels very slow to accelerate and it felt better a few weeks ago.

AUto X never ran and I don't really expect it to run this year to be honest man. The oval and infield is beat to sh*t so it wouldn't be great for lowered cars.

I could throw a new clutch and all but I just don't feel like spending any money on this engine

I just want to have it get me through the season as it is and then swap in something nice and fresh that makes substantially more power.

Just finished a long day of race school!

WOW, it was awesome. Had tons of fun today and learned some pretty technical ways to shore up my times without burning off my rubber!

Also, The Fit = Amazing this year!

One of the instructors actually took his hands off the wheel after he did a run and say "Wow, I am absolutely shocked at how fast this car is through the course".

Re-11's Indeed!!

Turns out I acutally posted the fastest RAW time of the day yesterday... granted the Lotus's and Corvettes were not present.

Man I was dominating in the Fit, it was incredible how well I was holding my own against cars that had double, triple or even quadruple the horsepower & full out racing suspension.

My favorite quote I heard:
"You car doesn't have the right to go that fast, it's like a refrigerator on wheels"

Suprised is more like an eye opener or something that catches you off guard.... Shocked on the other hand is a jaw dropping followed by a 2 second paralyzing which seemed to be striking a lot of people

Damn, still nothing back from Toma on this tuning... this is starting to suck.
