Alot of people said the Honda Element locking gas cap will fit, and I think you can get one from Canadian tires

Hmm I thought i posted earlier..maybe i was dreaming laugh.
Unless the Fit in Canada is different than the states, (as far as the tank size and pipe running from the outside to the tank) it would be near to impossible for soemone to siphon gas from the newer hondas. There is a cross piece down in the tube further than the nozzel reaches that blocks a hose. The only thing that would work would be a tube the size of the ones coming off the windshield wipers. And even if they used a hand powered or electric siphon for it, it would take them forever. That isn't coming from the dealer, that is coming from my mechanic after I was asking him to get me some extras (at wholesale) for the car.

Well, that's all fine and dandy if you're worried about someone stealing your gas, but how does that prevent anyone from putting anything into your gas tank??

Just pry off the plastic loop from the filler neck leaving it attached to the original gas cap. You will want to keep this part in case you want to reinstall it when you sell your car.

Locking Gas Cap

Does anybody know where I can purchase one locally? I went to Middlegate Honda today and the salesman had no idea what I was talking about. We went to the service/parts department and they said they've never heard of that before.

Auto parts store- most 1st. gen Fit owners bought their locking caps from after-market manufacturers.
