why not dispute? i'm still a student and i can't afford to pay off a $400 ticket.
at least if i dispute it, and get a court date, i can hope that cop doesn't show up and i don't have to pay a penny, or i can just act all innocent and explain my situation and i only have to pay 50% or something.

the cop last night also said he could've given me a violation for exhaust/muffler, but he didn't...what's wrong with exhaust/muffler? i have spoon n1... hmm...
i had 6000K HIDs as well...

feifei, did you have 8000K or something?

That's why I discarded my old 8000K HID and went back to stock halogens.
Use the bulb that are meant for reflector housings, HID is only good for projectors (Fit of RAGE's is nice). Also much less attention from the cops and other ricers.

I see better with stock halogens than HIDs on the Fit for some reasons.

well... as long as you don't accellerate too hard when you're going past cops it's okk.
otherwise all they hear is VROOOOM VRRROOOM and sirens go on.

6000K should be legal.. it's still white. anything over that then you will get pulled over no questions asked.

it might just be the way it's angled...when i got my new HIDs installed couple weeks ago, it was aimed wayyy too high. and lots of ppl were high beaming me ><
even felix said i was blinding him when i was following him the night of the meet.
i adjusted it earlier today so it's aimed lower.
i'll see how it is later when i go out

lol, what are you going to say during the court date? They changed the rules, the cop HAS to show up now.

Yes oem HIDs are legal, but anything aftermarket is illegal. So are retrofitted projectors. lol

I was standing by my car with my friend, sipping my coffee and since I don't want to put the front license plate off because I'll have to take it off for the FMIC, the cop told me they're cracking down on everything and I'll get pulled over for it.

lol, damn wth? Does the downfall of our economic crisis really affect the police officers? They need to give out more tickets?

Just read motor vehicle safety act and mod your car according to the rules laid out there.

In other words, don't mod your car.

Basically from experience to stay out of trouble:

HID's ---> make sure they are not blinding oncoming drivers
----> MAKE SURE they are white and can be argued as white

muffler ----> relates to overall exterior noise emission
-----> overall noise level no louder than 83db and you're ok!!!

All other stuff you wanna find out ---> happy reading!! Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations

ericman is right, they've changed the rules.
before, the cops did not show up b/c they weren't paid to. Now they're paid also to show up to court. At least that's what I heard.

Drive safe.

Back on topic: Spotted.....a fit! lol

Change the court date, tell them you have an exam that day or make another excuse, as they tend to book all the officers court dates on the same day and its unlikely the officer will make an appearance for one case. Therefore you win. Found this info in mcleans magazine and it works.
