TV newsflash re: FIT speedometers?

Hello Everybody:
Puh-leeze...no more snow!!! Anyways, did anybody catch the news which had a story on this? My brother-in-law saw it and told me that there's something wrong with the odometer or speedometer. We are all to call our dealers as these do not measure properly and apparently mis-calculates how much you've actually driven. Does that mean we're not getting the correct fuel/mileage also? Hmmm.... Thanks all and have a good evening.

old news. this is a sticky in the general fit forum. US customers won class action, but currently does not extend to Canada.

it's because Honda Canada and American Honda Co. are two different legal entities, and the class action referred in the sticky is filed in the US.

But I just got the letter today too. Looks like Honda Canada is doing the same thing basically. So if you're within 5% over the allowed mileage for warranty work, it will be honoured. But the time limit is not extended. So for people like me who will probably not exceed the mileage before the years are up, this makes zero difference.

I got my letter today too but I think the warranty is only for 3 years and I won't be anywhere close to the 50,000 kms. So I guess I'm out.

Got my letter, and read thru it. I think it only affects the lease guys or who wanna sell their fit later down the road. My car cleared the 50K point a while back so I dun think it means anythign to me no more.

the odo on our car is 5% more than whats actually put on our car... so say if ur lease is only good for 50K Km, u need to let them knwo taht u didnt actually drove 50K Km but maybe around 45k.. otherwise dealership will charge u for overdriving ur lease

My car is almost 60K... but since i own my car, it dosnt affect me

So this just goes up to the 2007 fits am I correct ?
From what I have heard from other fit owners it does not apply to the '08s or '09s
Does anyone know ?

Sorry but have been having trouble with getting my mail delivered so if they did send me a letter it would be lost in the mail abyss. Just wanting to make sure that what I have been told is right.
