hey Jason,

speaking about the FIT battery, I got a question for you
my car still new, 2010 model but ever since I bought the FIT
every time when I clean the components underneath the hood
I am not impresse with the size and the look of the battery
it looks so tiny and small....does it last long?
I just wondering it can last up to 3 years within the warranty period, or does the dealer cover the battery?
can we put a larger and more powerful battery in the FIT?
just thinking ahead, that's all.
thanks

Alan, u don't have to worry about your battery if u do drive a decent distance everyday. I'm talking about 10-15km a trip to work/school and another 10-15km back. That will give more chance for the battery to get charged up and let the engine get a better warm up. A lot of people who just drive their cars 5min to the mall to grab grocery think their car doesn't need service just because of the short distance they do. I do see some of my customers only come back once a year because they think that's not necessary. But in fact, their car wear out faster without proper service just because the short trips they do.

If u still worry about that, u should get something like this when it's on sale:
Motomaster Eliminator Intelligent Battery Charger 6A/4A/2A | Canadian Tire

One more thing about the battery. Most of the manufacturer only give a pro-rated warranty on batteries. The full replacement no cost warranty only covers up to 12months. And then u gotta start to pay portion of the cost of the battery, up to a point there's no more warranty on it.
