If yawl decide to meet @ the Aloha Stadium you can watch the event heats and what not.

We will be driving in the 1st heat @ around 9:30 AM and will be done @ around 12 noon. However, the "fun runs" are @ 4:00 PM. I was leaning towards staying until 4:00 PM for the fun runs.

The fun runs are up to 5 runs for practice. We can also take a passenger if u want to ride along.

I'll keep my eyes open for whatever yawl decide.

I say we meet up, shoot the cruise around the island (at least half way), stop somewhere to get something to eat then stop at some nice scenic area to take some pics.

Just my 2 cents...

Yeah, there was a post in the "post pics of your car" thread asking for some "beautiful Hawaii landscapes" in our pictures. Oahu has got a bunch of these kinds of spots...might as well show 'em off...behind our Fits.

- Sandy beach
- The blow hole
- Makapuu
- A bunch of beaches on the North Shore
- Tantalus
- Sand Island park ?
- Ala Moana beach park
- Ilikai boat harbor ?
- ....others?

The Mini Cooper folks had a prior meet and they decided on a specific "start" and "finish" point then did a google map that showed the route. They drove:

1. Up the Tantalus road
2. Through the windward side
3. Around Sea Life Park
4. Past Sandy Beach
5. And ended up @ Kahala Mall to grinds

I think the whole cruise was pretty quick. It wasn't a 3-hour tour of something (Gilligan's Island).

that would be a great idea. we could do rolling shots too of the convoy with the mountains and have the ocean too. i'm pretty interested in doing what the mini cooper folks did.

Meet up at the Stadium Starbucks next to McDonald's (neutral grounds and lots of parking). Roll out and hit the H-3. Take the Kam Hwy exit, pass Kailua through Waimanalo and Makapu'u, hit sandys and eat @ Hawaii Kai shopping center. Teddy's Burger, Zippy's, Subway, McD's etc... Lot's of nice scenic erea's for pics on that route. We could end it at the Hawaii Kai boat harbor and take some group pics (nice backround).

Just my 2 cents again...

Sorry, but like I said before, I work on Sundays so I'd have to catch up with you somewhere on the other side of the island.

You folks have to come up with the "meet time" and the "roll out" time.

Just FYI...

...this is what a proposed route & time looked like on Google maps. The "times" are estimates.

EDIT: ...or yawl could just meet @ Sandy's or Hawaii Kai Boat Harbor or wherever.
