Leasing is a waste of $$. In the end if you buy it you spend twice the cars value over the 6 years!
And if you return it after 3 years there goes $17,000 for the 3 years lease!
Leasing is a form of long term car RENTAL!
S2K is MSRP $35k, it depreciates 6-8K over 3 years, and so it's worth $27K.
IF you bought it for the $550 / mo. payment over the 5 years, and it's YOURS and you sell it after 5 years to get rid of it, as opposed to returning a lease, you will be at a net loss of $10-12K, worth $22K in your pocket! You can sell it and put that down on the newer model S2K and the payments will be $250 a month over 5 years! AND that second car you buy will be yours after three years! Unless you decided to sell it and do it again!
See how leasing is EVIL! ALL THEY DO IT keep taking your money and giving back NOTHING!!!
BUY your first car!! Sweat it out!! It's worth it in the long run! (Even to just not have payments after one of the cars you decide to keep for a little longer after the loan is up!) AND STILL BE Driving that S2K because it's yours!!

Did I mention that Leasing becomes addictive? They give you the buyback option at a higher monthly payment than a new lease payment! They want to keep you hooked so they keep soaking your wallet!
If you live month to month and you CAN"T afford the $550 to get an S2K and you want an S2K then this deal isn't bad (Just to keep the month to month payments within reach!) And if you decided to buy it out after the lease ends, at $400 / mo for 5 years......
So it would be in the ball park of $350-400 for 8 years............ DAMN that's a long time, but it might fit your monthly budget! And after 8 years it'll be yours! After finance charges and lease FEES (they are fees not payments) you will have spent $50,000 for an s2k though......
JDMChris, I"m not hating on you or your dealership or your job, just my opinion of leasing.
