Here's a one off item I did this week and am offering it for sale if someone is interested.
This is a stock gd3 shift knob covered with two layers of real carbon. I don't plan on doing more of this shifter but may look further into some manual shift knobs and am wanting to try some colored weaves.
Part has been sold.

 

will this fit on a GE8. If so i'm interested in purchasing it.

 

I'm not sure if it will fit. I've looked on line for the 09 part but haven't been able to find one. Maybe someone else has some input.

 

Does anyone know if the GD3 auto shift knob will work on the GE8? Or maybe where I can check.

 

Well I have a GE auto shift knob on my GD so I think it would work the other way.

OMG is that 2x2 weave or 1x1??

 

It's actually 2x2 biaxial sleeving. Have you ever seen one of those braided tubes that you stick a thumb in both ends and you can't pull them out because it tightens as you pull? That pretty much what this is like only in carbon. Great for all kinds of tubular parts and I'll eventually be doing some parts with added color too.
