Spotted: Grey Fit in Edgewater, NJ 6/3/07

Ok,

I just came back from seeing Knocked Up and I ran into a Grey Fit Sport, with some Work wheels, in the parking lot. Does this Fit belong to anyone on FitFreak?
By the way, my blue Si is right next to it.

That is my Fit. Yes, I noticed your Si when I came out from the
the movies. I usually park away from other cars, it did cross my
mind why you parked next to me when there were so many spots.
Saw Pirates...it was raining hard so I didn't check out ur ride.

I normally park in thr front park of the parking lot when I go to movies in Edgewater. At first, I noticed the white Supra that was parked there. As I was driving near it I noticed your Fit. I always loved that color on the Fit, and those Work wheels complement it very well. I parked next to you on purpose, as a message that I noticed your car. Also to keep the Hondas united.
A few months ago I really wanted to get a Fit. I went to test drive one and my fealing changed. You see, I know that the power difference between the Fit and my Si is big, but I was hoping that the power of the Fit was mainly at the high RPMs like the Si. Instead, the power is more in the midrange and die off in the higher RPM band. That really pushed me away and I stopped posting on FitFreak.
This was my first post in a long time. I still love the look and practicality of the Fit. I just wish the engine was different. But hey, I cannot say I will never get one.

By the way, nice car!!!!!

You are correct with the way the Fit performs. Considered the Si before
buying the Fit. I chosed the Fit due to the price and the space it provided for my daily car. My wife is looking into Si, I hope she gets it.

I didn't get a chance to look at the Si due to the rain. You've done
any work to it? Drop by and say Hi in the future.

That's ok. It was raining cats and dogs yesterday. No, I have done any work on it because I will be needed a 4 door car so I might get an Si Sedan. Once I get whatever 4 door car, then I will put some work on it. I really wish they made the Fit with a little sportier engine. By the way, what work have you put on your Fit. I really loved the look of it.

I really wish there was a K20 Fit. Once you drive a K20 powered Honda you just fall in love. There not the fastest cars on the rode, but no other car has given me the feeling I have when I drive my Si.

You should try a F22c1.. ...better yet..4g63
As for powering the Fit, I'm waiting to see what the force
induction are coming.

Those rims are Work Emotion Kai. Bought them used from a memeber on
Honda Tech. Thanks for the compliments...again...if you catch me again,
feel free to hi. Always glad to talk to a fellow Honda driver.

I've never driven a S2K, but one of my close friends has a modded Evo 8. Yes, the car is very, very fast. But I hate the turbo lag on his car. The Evo is fast, but not a joy to drive. I enjoy driving with my K20 Civic a lot better. Especially when you hit Vtec and the car starts screaming at you with beautiful sound. Supoosedly the sound of Vtec on the Si is intensified by the way the stock intake was designed. Have you ever driven one of the new Sis?

Yes, test drove it at the dealers. I do love the torque of the K motors.
The Si's only flaw to me is the weight, it needs to lose some.
I grew up on Vtec..hehe A little history of my pass vehicles.

98 Prelude SH, 00 S2000, 02 Civi Si, 04 TSX, 04 S2000, 05 Evo8,
currently 07 Fit. I love Honda's. 96 Cbr600, 98 Cbr900, 98 Ducati 916,
04 R1, currently 06 1000rr.

So you see..even though I might try
something else, I end up coming back to Honda. Now I could only
hope Honda bring something really exciting in the next couple of
years. I'm itching to change something soon.

The Si is my first Honda and I love it. Yes, it could loose some weight, but it;s still a fun car to drive. By the way, power aside, do you enjoy a 4G63 powered car or a K20/F22 powered car?

My take on the motors.

K20 / F22 - super reliable in it's N/A form. K20 advantage is
the torque form a I4. The F22 gain some torque from the F20, but lost
some revs. F22 shines up top of course, K20 more in the mdirange
when I test drove it. N/A just feels great, you can control every rpm.

4G63 - Motor is bulletproof, reacts great to mods, does lag but makes
up at full boost. Stock form, great mid, no top end, but $100 controller
will fix that.

I agree with the above stated. The 4G63 is about as mulletproof as you can get, similar to the 2JZ from the Supra. I personally lean towards the NA engines with high RPM power like the Hondas. Yes, this is my first Honda, but I owned an SVT Focus that was flashed and it had a redline around 7600, which is close to the Si's K20. There's just something about the K20. The personality of it maybe. I drive my boy's Evo on occasion, maybe after every new mod he puts in it, I always leave with the feeling that I miss my K20. Then I get back in my car and everything is fine again.
Damn, I sound like I love my car more then my wife. I really want to drive one of the new Zs with the new VQ35HR engine, since the redline was raised to 7500RPMs. The VQ is probably one of the best NA engines in the world today, that is not in supercar territory.

By the way, do you live close to Edgewater?

Yea..I live in Palisades Park, about 10 mins away from Edgewater.
Not this week, but every Wed we have our S2ki humpday starbucks
meet in that plaza in edgewater. Should come...meet the S2 peeps.
Also, the Sti peeps rolls deep there every Wed too.

VQ gains some hp and revs, but lost some torque. I too would like
to test drive the car if I get a chance. I almost thought of buying one,
but to me the interior was the deal breaker.

U live in Edgewater?

Yeah, I live in Edgewater. I go to a gym at the Edgewater Commons, where the Starbucks is located. Sometimes I go to the B&N there and I see car meets there. I've always been curious to know if the cops give you guys any problems for meeting there.
It's funny, Wed is usually my day off during the week. I will see if one day I head out to meet you guys. My wife is not really keen in me spending money modding my car, so she would probably worry if going to a meet would motivate me more. I feel a little weird rolling with a stock car, though. Not one mod in my car.

About the interior of the Z. I know the interior of the original Z was pretty cheap, but I heard that the 06 Zs and up had the interior redesigned and that its a lot better. Have you seen the new interior?

Funny how you mention that, my wife uses my mod spending money
to justify her shopping habits. The cops have never bothered us when
we were there. Our meet have been going on for 2 years now without
any issues. Though you do have the idiots that thinks the parking lot is
an Nascar track. Feel free to come to the meets, all is welcome, modded
or not. We are there just to get together and shoot the breeze. I for one
like all cars modded or not. So come to the S2000 bunch with the one Fit
and just say Hi. My name is Mike btw.

About the Z, I have not checked the new interior, but from the looks of it
online, it does look better. What bothered me most was the material used
felt really cheap. I really do like the looks of the Nismo Z that is coming.
