I've checked out some parks on Long Island. But unfortunately they don't tell you if you can barbecue at any of them. I'm sure you can but they only mention picnic tables.
I did find out that Cunningham Park does have a barbecue area. We just have to find it.

It was nice meeting you today. Is Cunningham Park the one that you were saying that it is near Francis Lewis? We should definitely find a park that we are going to by this Friday so we can plan the other stuff out too.

Me & hkjazz went to Cunningham Park & Forest Park tody. About Forest Park forget it, it is very difficult to find the BBQ spot.

so we either drive little bit to Long Island or just Queens!!!

How about Queensbridge Park? The park by the Queensborough Bridge aka 59th Street Bridge. BBQ is available there and it over looks into the Manhattan East Side.

So Sy11580 and hkjazz,
Did you find the bbq area in Cunningham Park?
Queensborough Park sounds great too.

I did a little research into some parks in Long Island that you can BBQ at.

Valley Stream
Hempstead
Bethpage
Belmont

These are the parks that I found somewhat central.
I vote for Bethpage State Park since it's in the middle of the Island. Plus it might entice the Fits' of LI to come meet up with us.

Here's a link that shows a map of the state parks.
New York State Parks :: Maps
You have to check off the State Parks box and zoom into Long Island.

They do have grills or we can bring our own grill.

I believe we are going to Cunningham Park. It is very easy for everyone to go to there.

We may have another BBQ meet (i'm not sure yet, I'm thinking about it). So next time go to LI.

So we are set to go to the Cunningham Park on 8/9. So maybe we should start a list of who is bringing what. Whoever is coming to the BBQ meet should put their names onto the list as well as what they are bringing next to their names.

BBQ 8/09
1. sy11580
2. hkjazz - ice, soda, cooler
3. kc1222
4. bbfat- hot dog, hot dog buns
5. Choro-Q_Fit - burger, burger buns

If you dont know what you should bring, here is a list of possible items that you can choose from.
1. Charcoal
2. Napkins, paper plates, forks
3. Chips
4. Chicken wings
5. Water
6. Ketchup, BBQ sauce, Mayo, Mustard

Whoever does not have the time to get something or dont know what to get, can chip in at the end.
