If you are coming from LI then either take the GWB towards NJ and get off at the Palisades Interstate Parkway(PIP) North. Take that to exit 19 and follow that to Bear mountain (follow specifics on website from PIP).

Or you could take the New York State Thruway (i-87 North) to exit 13N. That is the exit for the PIP northbound. Follow that to exit 19 and so on.

When you get to the park (after you go around bear mountain circle) make the left into the first parking lot. I will be parked at the end by a group of benches.

You guys going to roll a Fit Convoy? Where are you starting from and what time? Might join you if it doesn't pull me too far out of the way.

 

I was thinking starting from somewhere near one of the bridges that lead out of queens! Lets say Throgs neck or whitestone?

If throgs neck bridge, we could meet up lets say by I-295 service road off exit 6A (35th ave.) on the northbound side of service road, and between 35th ave and 34 th ave.

Just an idea, that way we hop on the expressway an off we go!

Are we taking I-87 to there? If we take I-87 than we can meet near by LaGuardia Airport. I remember Grand Central Pwk have a Mobile Gas Station next to the airport (I think the Exit number is 9 or 10) I forgot. If we meet up there I don't know how far away for you and GotaFit?? But for me and Ray (if way take Grand Central Pwk to I-87) we have to pass that Gas Station anyway to I-87.

Nope i'm not taking i-87 straight (I hate the Maj Deegan!!)

Rather take the Hutchinson, to the Cross County, to I-87 when it's in westchester county and no longer the Maj Deegan! Got me?

Lance whatever you want!! if we take throgs neck bridge, right? Are u talking about the service on Cross Island Pwk before the bridge? Is there have a side walk that people can be running, fishing, biking........etc?

 

Just to reiterate:

From that route you would be going over the Tap bridge so take i-87 to exit 13N (PIP north). Then follow to exit 19 then on to bear mountain.

P.S. I will be posting a map of the park soon once i figure out which parking lot we are going too. I saw one on the map which was by the pool and probably would not be as crowded. Good place for a DIY intake manifold painting.

 

Actually the highway service road for the throgs neck is Interstate 295 (I-295) exit 27 on the LIE (I-495).

You want to go north on (I-295) Clearview Expressway. Get off exit 6A (35th ave) and go past the light and park on the right somewhere.

Lets meet up at say 11:00 assuming the meet is at 12:00?

If you wanna meet at BM at 12 that's cool. However, I am not gonna get their at 9A to try and get a prime spot. I personally don't fell like chillin for 3-3.5 hrs before we get started. I will probably get there around 10 or so. Hopefully their will still be some good spots.

I had suggested 11 but i am sure you guys don't wanna be up that early for the long drive. Whatever works for all.
