Mid- October Long Island Cruise!
i went to Queens yesterday, astoria and then maspeth, took me 2 hours from staten island. average speed was 5 mph. i just cant take the BQE its a darn nightmare.
do you know they closed the tunnel for a foot race or something? imagine the amount of gas wasted with 2 lanes closed for construction and the darn tunnel closed and everyone going towards the city! i am all for these little races but man the city is just getting way to crowded for them to close the top level of the varazano bridge for bike races and now the entire lincoln tunnel!!
2 hours to go 30 miles!!!!! ugh! i am still pending. althought i would love to be with you guys.
are there directions somewhere?

Seem most of the people can make for this meet, we really have to design what is the date for the meet!!!
I think either 21/22 is the best, since some of the members cannot make it (Wedding, work) for 14/15. It is up to you guys for Sat. or Sun. (Hope everyone can get together this time).
As Lance said the meeting point will be at Queen NYC, the exact location will be comfirm later!!! If we have amount of people this time, we have to find a loction that we can park all the Fit's while we waiting for the members.

I was in Astoria on Saturday, got a f'ing parking ticket for having the nose of my Fit on top of a safety zone...
That's why I don't like Queens or Brooklyn... no parking whatsoever! That's asides from the badly paved roads
You know, I felt like doing exactly what Wave's avatar looks like

Other than that, another place that we could meet is at the NYIT Old Westbury campus parking lot (there are several, but coming in through the main entrance, the main parking lot should be on your right side). The parking lot is large enough and on Saturdays it's mostly empty, which would be good for getting all of our cars parked together as opposed to scattered. What do you guys think?
NYiT Parking also is a good idea, if we are not coming at the main entry that will be the 3rd parking lot (Left hand side)!!! There should be a BIG TV on the left hand side!!! I can lead other members to there!!!

You come from Staten Island??? Actually, go on Varazano Bridge to 278 to LIE is the faster way!!! I'm not sure can you take the boat to city then pass FDR Drive to China Town and get on Williams B. Bridge to LIE (495) to Northern Blvd.

Hey Alberto, lets meet you at the TJ Maxx at 25a which if headed north on Glen COve rd, you will see a wendys on your left 200 feet from the corner intersection of 25a. Make a right into that parking lot and cross over into the TJmax parking lot and go to the right near the curb parking, we'll see ya there and meet you there if we get there first!
RoeNYC, Take the Verezano Br. to the Belt pkwy towards JFK, then keeping on the belt until you see the cross island pkwy, take that north, and get off the Rt 25A norther blvd west exit, Dunkin Donuts on left 3-4 blocks next to wendys!! Good enough for directions?
