Not everyone hates their commute, according to recent research by Patrick Singleton and Prasanna Humagain of Utah State University. While drivers and transit riders would prefer to teleport to work if they had the option, the majority of cyclists and pedestrians surveyed would keep their current commute.

While it matters on what the commute is, but it would seem that many of the transit riders would somewhat enjoy their commutes too. I liked it cause it gave me a good time to catch up and be on top of email stuff. But yeah, I can see peds and bikers saying they enjoyed their commutes, and that was from people in Portland, OR. Not exactly a sunshine state.

Yep. Some studies I've seen on this have interesting gender breakdowns as well.

As a transit commuter...I love it.

When the bus is late that's frustrating, but I'd rather ride the bus on a snowy miserable day than drive my own car.

Cars are great as occasional use, personal recreation devices but commuting in a car solo is miserable.

I did not hate carpooling though, if you can't transit/walk/bike, that's the cheat code.

I walked to work for many years. Yes true not so fun in weather (in Boston we do have all sorts of exciting weather), but overall, I 100% agree that getting a little exercise and fresh air is the best commute. I would take a 1 min longer route so I can walk by the ocean.
