I hope you don't mind a little blunt criticism. The thing that sticks to my mind is the coke can. Not sharp. If you're trying to capture movement, that's one thing. I can forgive you on that. It's hard. But still photos, sharpness is first and foremost.

Everything else, I'm going to reserve judgment simply because I don't have a clear picture of what you're trying to do/accomplish. I mean I could easily comment on your composition, focus, lighting, contrast, etc. but for all I know that's what you truly intended the photo to be. And if it is, then in my opinion, you've done really well. I am very picky about sharpness though. That I can't let you get away with.

For me, it's way to much centered. You should rethink (spel???)
your subject and composition. I see a Canon SLR, try to find a
Canon message board, it's gonna help you for shure. The dog
pics and the coke can are soft, maybe your shutter speed was
to slow ??? Are you shooting RAW or Jpeg ? If Jpeg, try boosting
the "in camera" sharpness just a bit... A good way to start is with
the light/sun behind you (to avoid bad exposition)

I like the mirror auto portrait, except for the background...
I'm not a pro, it's just my opinion.

Nope thats why i posted them. I chose the pictures that i didn't think came out well, so i was looking for what i did wrong.

Thanks lol your the third person that told me they were to "dull" so i think im going to try the coke can again.

In all honesty i wasn't trying anything with the pictures, trying to learn the camera. kind why they are random.

phil_qc pretty much nailed it right on.
Mentioned everything I was going to suggest.

But yeah, still some good pictures. I actually like the coke can one a lot.

Do you have a deviant art page?
Mines Mista-Bob on deviantART
If you don't, deviant art is also a great place to learn and receive constructive criticism, I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you haven't already.

Thanks,

No i do not, however im going to have to sign up after i get some more pics. I have a 2 photo shoots with a friend. She wants one in black and white on an old bridge here in town (any tips for B&W's would be great, i may shoot most of it in sepia though) and one on her Trans am.

I've been using Dailyofftopic.com under the section PAGG.

Try to shoot in RAW format and make
the black and white or sepia with Photoshop...
You will get better result than using the "in
camera" b&w...

Philippe

One of my first sepia with a boost of saturation... (the underexposed effect was wanted)
