Package shipping from japanparts.com to US

I received an e-mail message with a tracking number from JapanParts.com for some recently ordered parts. Their shipper for my parts is JapanPost's EMS service. Just for laughs I tried inserting the tracking number into the tracking page for USPS. I was surprised to see that the USPS says that my item left TOKYO, JAPAN on August 1, 2007.

Yup, if you or someone else is sending something to a foreign country using the standard postal service, it will link up with your country's postal service. I buy stuff from the US all the time and ask for USPS...if I take that tracking number and stick it in the Canadapost tracking site, it comes up.
