Wow is definitley right. A very unfortunate incident, but not surprising. It seems like I hear about someone dying in some sort of plane or helicopter crash at least once a week. It's insane.

Those aboard the helicopter will surely be missed and I feel for their family and friends.

its not the plane that gets me its how he died, of all places flying... but ya it does seem that you hear a lot of deaths in the news about small planes or private helicopters failing or falling apart.

Unbelievable news.....

This is extremely shocking news! I have been following him since the beginning of his rally career. My heart dropped when I read the forum post. God bless him and his family. R.I.P. Colin McRae and Jon McRae..

First Richard Burns then Michael Parks and now Colin! Best of British Rallying!
I just watched Rally Reviews from his championsip years entire evening.
BTW, Dave Richards, the owner of Prodrive Rally Subary team (for whom Colin won those championships) and next years new F1 team, took off from Spa after todays F1 race earlier than he planed because of Colin's death. He himself almost died with his wife when he had to make a crash landing in his helicopter today! Helicopter transmission blew and they fell like a rock and landed on it's side. No injuries!

Colin's memorial service will be the largest. He was most recognizable WRC personality of modern era.
RIP Colin McRae! You will always be remembered!

The news hit the JR family hard, we were big fans of Colin.

With a racing family, you hope to never have incidents at the racetrack, or in Colin's case, in the gravel. He made it through all of those...

For it to take his young son too hurts even more.

Rest In Peace.

A semi-Colin video that makes me smile every time. He just throws the car in the corner effortlessly. Amazing to watch just Colin.
