Sport-Bikes on your Bumper?

Maybe it is just me, but since I have got my Fit I have had a couple ot times when sport-bikes actually press their front tire into my rear bumper at stop lights. It leaves a black scuff every time, really sucks. Is this a new trend or something? Why are people doing this?

Actually, its VERY stupid of the bike rider...that leaves them NO room to watch for potential rear end collisions. Any rider with half a brain leaves themselves an escape route by staying well behind stopped cars.

Not sure man, might just be a new Alberta thing. None of the bikers I know are retarded enough to pull something like that. Hell in California if you do that to the wrong person, your ass might get shot, so no one is willing to take the chance. I know for sure if someone did that to my car, Id get out and push them and their bike to the ground just so we all have scuff marks to share.

I've never heard of such thing. I'm a biker my self and I hate being close to cars on the road even at the light. I always stop on the left side of the lane so the driver can see my headlights.

If someone is sticking their tire on ur bumper. I'd get out and beat their ass.

Yeah I hope this isn't some kind of emerging trend, it bothers me because there isn't a lot you can do in that situation that won't put the guys life in serious danger (which makes this even dumber for them to do because somebody somewhere is going to rage eventually and do something stupid like swerve into them or jam the car into reverse).

It really ticked me off when the guy sped past me and his plate was totally flat towards the sky so you couldn't grab the number even if you wanted. These guys are being totally irresponsible and dangerous both to themselves and everybody else on the road. It used to be handful of bad apples, but it seems like lately (around here at least) a lot more sport-bike riders are doing catwalks past me and traffic surfing between cars.

Almost worth it to install a ride along camera these days.

lol, yeah that would be funny....

Then again I would run the risk of them freaking out and ripping my wiper blade off then speeding away leaving me with a OEM parts bill from hell. I figure people doing this must be cocky bastards looking for a fight.

dang i've never seen anything like that. couldn't that be considered a collision? if someone rode up against my rear bumper with a car, i'd get out and get all their info. i'd try to do the same if it were a biker riding up using his/her tire too. or if they run then call the cops and say they hit and run!

well if they are up on your bumper, they can't just back up and go around you without a lotta work. just put on the brake, get out and get in his face. he can't go anywhere.

Yeah it is hard not to loose it.

I know myself and if I get out of the car and the guy is a total dick (which I sure he will be if he is doing this to peoples cars) I will probably get in a scrap; next thing you know I will be dragged into court for "Road Rage", get the book thrown at me, then my insurance will shoot through the roof. I already pay too much for insurance!! Which is too bad, because some people really deserve to have the crap kicked out of them.

The way I see it for the moment is, it isn't worth it to blow a gasket and let the guy cost me a small fortune and possibly a few months suspension on my DL. It is just a scuff, it comes out with a little work in the car wash. I think I am going to start reporting them as intentional hit & runs.... although it isn't very effective when the guy flips up the plate so no one can read it.

But yeah... X2 on that too. So freaking tempted to jam it into reverse and dump the clutch

Yeah it never happend to me before, but I got my Fit in March and since then I have had two instances where this happened. The first time I was like "what the hell" and I kind of let it go. It just happened again this last weekend so I wondered if this was some new game people are playing with their bikes.

I never had this problem back in Van with my Isuzu. But my last vehical here was up high enough it would have pinched their tires Plus I could have just backed over them anyway

I have a buddy by the last name of WESSON. I bet he could take care of that problem.
