starts at $1700, I already have the intel duo macbook. If its not significantly better I'll probably just stick with that.

The big thing with the Macbook Air is its size. If you want the SSD, its $3100!!! I think it is overpriced for what it is. It's definitely nice because of the size, but the internals are nothing exciting. Everything was shrunk, that's pretty much it.

Its only worth getting for the Solid State... and that's pretty pricey IMO... I'd rather have a Macbook Pro... however... I'm still crossing my fingers for the iTablet rumor to come to fruition... then bye bye G5!

Do you already own a Mac?
If not you wont be able to upload any programs from a disk becasue there is no disk slot. You have to already own a Mac, then link the two.
My friend was about to get one untill he heard that.

I own 2 macs, can I transfer all of my programs (word, photoshop, etc) to the new one without having additional product keys?

Gizmodo has a comparison of all the small laptops. If you can put up with a 1" thick laptop, the Dell XPS 1330 has better features, bigger HDD, more memory, faster processor, costs a few hundred less, at the price of an extra pound, and slightly thicker...PWNED IMO!

And I'm pissed since I have to PAY Apple ANOTHER $20 to upgrade my iPod Touch that I shelled out close to $500 when it came out (CAD was $450+tax+express shipping...I'm impatient ). What a bunch of crap. I wasn't going to jailbreak mine, but tonight I'm downgrading to 1.1.1 and jailbreaking my iPod...cheap bastards...

The thing is the 1330 has half the real battery life. I have a friend who has one and it only gets 2.5 hours of life. Thats what kills me. I'll pick up an air just for a laptop on the go. I have a MacBook Pro already but I want a laptop that is light and small. I honestly never use the cd drive on my MBP so I won't miss it on the Air. The only thing that I don't like is it only has 1 usb port. Other than that, i'm on the edge of ordering mine right now.

I don't use the drive except to put programs like office on the computer. If I can get away with sharing them of my current mac book, I'm sold. Do you have a lot of peripherals for the usb?

Wow, that thing is really nice! I just got back from Macworld. You can"t really appreciate how thin and light it is until you actually hold it. I want one!
