Taxpayers would get checks under economic stimulus plan - CNN.com

Supposedly were all getting $600 post taxes checks to stimulate the economy. I'm not sure if its real, it might be a ploy to push up the economy without doing anything. If it is real though, my money is going straight to canada for some AJ racing parts or a good chunk towards the turbo kit.

 

well, the more money I make in the year , the more I have to pay the next year.. so I hope I get some money back.

 

It's a "plan," who knows if it will ever actually happen.

 

its kinda late in the game to be thinking of doing this anyways.. just think of how many stamps and copying they will have to do and all the ink.. jebus!

The check is to keep the peasants happy so they don't storm the white house and slap good old Bush with their dirty socks.

Im not bagging on the check, hell I welcome it, a few extra bucks is a few extra bucks. But the reality is its nothing but a free car wash in a dust storm of an economy. The car gets clean for about 2 seconds then its dirty again.

My check will help to buy a steel carport to cover the Fit and Scion XB in the driveway, to keep the redwood sap from looking like blood stains on the cars. If no tax rebate comes, will still buy the carport and will still help out the economy. What a good person I am!

 

They said the first checks will be going out around May - as above it is bandaid to fix the problem! I remember when they did this several years ago and they gave us like $400.00 - with inflation now we get $600.00

Where is this alleged money coming from? China already owns us. Hmmm, how do you all feel about working in sweatshops and owning (if you're lucky) chinese cars?

 

I've heard it was going to be $800 for singles and 1600 for couples. It is just a bandaid to fix it, but the idea is that by people spending the money it will help keep the economy moving instead of just shutting down which is what tends to happen in the cycle that our economy is in. Its slowing down enough right now to effect a lot of stuff
