My Flickr Page

I've always been somewhat of a shutter bug in the past 2 years but I've never had balls to buy a "real" camera. All I have is a Canon SD1000 P&S, I take it everywhere with me and just recently, I started a Flickr account. I just want to share a few of my photos, these pictures have NEVER been edited. I don't know how to edit, nor do I have the software. These are straight from my memory card.

Flickr: TiTi Ko Matigas' Photostream

Please, I need some advice and criticism. And what should be my first dSLR camera? I'm leaning towards Canon and Nikon.

Thanks in Advance.

-Paul.

Thanks guys for the responses. I'm glad you guys are saying "Canon" because I have my eyes set on this Amazon.com: Canon Digital Rebel XSi 12MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens (Black): Camera & Photo

I'm going to have to wait for this one though, my money is not agreeing with my "Wants" because I need to fulfill my "Needs" first.

But yes, maybe after New Years, I will be able to afford this camera if I play this right. But my quick alternative is Amazon.com: Panasonic DMC-FZ28K 10MP Digital Camera with 18x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Black): Camera & Photo

It's "bridge" camera. It's still a P&S but it has DSLR-like abilities in manual mode. I believe this is a good camera to learn with before jumping into a full DSLR. At least that's what my cousin says. I take his advice seriously because he's been doing photography when they had to use film, and he still pulls his film camera out once in a while.

Damn it!, I'm trying to give you reps but it won't let me. It says I need to spread them around, I don't rep enough I guess. I wish I could just afford a new camera but money is so friggin' tight right now.

-Paul.

P.S.- My girlfriend's cravings are annoying the hell out of me and she's barely 2 months.

and you should really get into editing, it's so much fun (not as fun as the actual photography though)
once you get good it can really make your pictures come alive

WOWOWOWOWOW!!!

I have photoshop but I rarely use it. I like the "what you see-is-what-you-get" type of photos.

Thanks. I'll work on some copies just to try somethings out.

Nice work. Goes to prove you don't need a DSLR for quality prints. As for cameras I've had my Rebel XTi for 2+ years and love it. I've heard good things about the XSi. I hear good things about Nikon's as well, but the one time I used one I wasn't comfortable w/ it, but probably b/c I'm use to mine. I suggest you getting the Canon since your using a Canon now. Might be easier to make the transition.

Nikon FTW! For the price brand new you simply can't beat a D40.

Nice pics as well!
