2 arrested in Internet prostitution sting
Two women will make court appearances next week after they were snared in an Memphis police undercover operation targeting Internet prostitution.
According to a police affidavit, an officer dialed a number he found on the Craigslist Web site for a woman who billed herself as “Chandace.” She quoted him a rate of $250 an hour and told him to meet her Friday at the Colonial Inn and Suites, 1952 E Shelby.
When the officer got there, two women were in her room.
They offered him a menu of sexual services that included watching them have sex for $300, having sex with “Chandace” for $300, or having sex with both of them for $400.
The detective told them he’d like to watch them to get “fired up.”
“Chandace” took $300 in police money, and that's when detectives arrived and took the women into custody, but not before an officer saw “Chandace” put a white box in a plastic bag.
The box contained two rocks of crack cocaine and a crack pipe, police said.
Jessica Cook, 22, and Sarah Havens, 20, were charged with prostitution near a church or school. Cook was also charged with possession of cocaine.
Both women were released on $1,000 bond. They’re scheduled to be arraigned next Tuesday in General Sessions Court.
