I'm an idiot - tell me what the difference is?

 

A turbo is spun from exhaust gases and a supercharger is spun by pulley. Also, supercharger make power instantaneously and turbos have a little lag before the power comes.

 

So what pulley does a supercharger use? This sounds complicated!

 

i prefer turbo, because i'm pretty sure they're less stress on the engine as you can stay out of boost, plus you make more power with turbo

front mount intercooler or top mounted i/c?

 

i'm just gunna give you the run down, there are a few different types of superchargers, positive displacement (screw type) and dynamic (centrifugal).

i like the tech sheets. i read the drivers story when im bored.

the supercharger runs off the crankshaft pulley and is less detrimental to the engine. the turbo has some lag which over time is worse for the motor but the turbo fot the fit is so small that you would never notice any lag but it does happen.

nah, the cost to benefit for ITB's on the L15 is border-line retarded. i'm ok with the way my Fit is now. i just need a header, intake manifold, lightened flywheel and a few more suspension components and i'm happy.

are you afraid of losing your job in this economy?

 

Nah, don't have one. But I am afraid that it'll be tough trying to find one due to it though.

What was your first job?

 

i rebuild torque converters and helped weld on some drag car frames. i had an awesome boss.


what do you think your next job will be?

 

ummm just a college job, something that i can work at during the evenings, hopefully i can weld as i'm taking classes next year, and i hope to get certified...

f1 trans, it's lighter and more compact which means lighter! thus more expensive
