You have to post 50 messages before you can see your rep count. You probably have at least 100K but you can't see it.

Oh and BTW welcome! <3 <3 <3 new FF-ers!!

lol, this thread is my legacy for this forum....

Anybody remember the dark days, when rep was being help captive in a monopoly between 30 members or so... we secretly were reping one another trying to build up enough to resist being neg-repped to zero, lol. It was the underground rep railroad!

Rep Freedom for all!

And a fine legacy it is, too.

I never really encountered "rep" points before coming here (to FitFreak).

It seemed like the point was to lend or take credibility so others can make a judgment before taking advice or buying something from another member?

I do give out a lot of rep though in spite of my occasional jackassery, and sometimes it is just for people who make me laugh so I guess I am not exactly helping there..

How is the amount given/received determined... usually when I rep someone they pick up between 100000 and 500000, is there some arbitrary weighting or is it based on something?

Why does it show 6.7mil on my posts and then ~335,700,000 I see in my UserCP?

I have acquired a big mess of reps since I have had any rep point increase.. I have a lot of people I repped that didn't get an increase in rep points also... I got out of and have stayed out of the red so that alone pleases me.

Well thanks dude, Your one of the people I seem to alway s try to rep for outstanding, informative and interesting post that I am told to spread the reps around more... I rep good post all of the time and take note of the rep points before and after and often the have remained the same... I believe that one guy I repped a few days ago did acquire points.... Again Thanks

Its going around now. Never seen this thread. Funny stuff in here. Guess I need to explore more instead of always using new posts button. Note I got more people to give rep to.

It's based on how many points YOU have - if you have a high rep count then you boost people a lot when you rep them, which was kind of how this whole think got started. You can only do 10 reps a day, though. We can only show that weird 40 M number, somehow that is max shown.

I have been looking for this thread and could not find it in search. This thread is epic - started by one of our original Fit Freakers! I got as many as I could before I maxed out. Reminds me of the early days back in 2007 when I first joined up. Hard to believe my MR is 4 years old now.
